3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 brenn79 (859) - Idaho, USA - SEP 30, 2011
12 oz. bottle- Pours slightly hazy golden with a 1 finger head that dissipates to a blanket that retains. The aroma is passion fruit and maybe wheat. The taste is fruity passion fruit, melon, wheat, very sessionable and drinkable. The body is a little thin to almost medium, carbonation is soft. I actually liked this much better than most reviewers on this site, not a great beer, but I have definitely had worse.

This is terrible, and I like all beer. But when you expect Dom P and get PBR, that is disappointment. I would rather have a 16 oz can of pabst than this bottle of Wailua. Smells like skunked Bud Light and doesn’t taste better. Too bad cause I was pumped.
2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20 AWMiller (476) - Mansfield, Texas, USA - SEP 22, 2011
This was my first Hawaiian brew and overall it was ‘ok’. The brew pours up a very clear, almost peach-like body but not a thick head like I was anticipating (and it dissipates very quickly!). Scents and flavors of sweet malts and various citrus fruits and a light tinge of hops make for a fairly balanced brew. The passion fruit was very dominant which for me made it almost ‘too fruity’ to enjoy; but others may be looking for something along those lines. It would be a good session brew on a hot summers day.
2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Bif (529) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - SEP 21, 2011
Bottle- Pours a light golden color with a small head that fades quickly with no real lacing. Mild grain aroma with light citrus and bit of sweetness. Mild fruity flavor, bit of fresh grain and a fairly dry finish. Light body, fairly smooth a bit too sweet and seems to linger. Not a real fan of wheat beers and the passion fruit doesn’t win me over.

I waited almost two years to man-up and try this. It was part of a mix-24 pack deal so my dignity is intact. That said, I have nothing bad to say about this brew. It is your standard light american wheat ale but with a nice little finish of passion frut. The fruit does not overpower this beer and I can see why this is so popular. This is a solid refreshing wheat ale with a dash of passion fruit to keep things lively. Buy this for your lady friend and enjoy one yourself!
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 ROGUE (1315) - Newark, Delaware, USA - SEP 9, 2011
12oz bottle. Pours a pale golden yellow color with a short white head. Smells of wheat, light bready notes and some tropical fruits. Taste has some light passion fruit flavor upront and in the finnish in a light bodied wheat beer. Thin and light summer refresher.
