Limited release. Swimming in a fresh water pool at the base of a cascading waterfall is what we all imagine we would find in paradise. On Maui, follow the old Hana Highway and you will find such a place – Wailua Falls. This plunging cascade of clear water is the inspiration for our Limited Release Wailua Wheat. This golden, sun colored ale has a bright, citrusy flavor that comes from the tropical passion fruit we brew into each batch. Sit back, relax and enjoy paradise anytime.

Editor’s Note: Lilikoi Wheat was renamed to Wailua Wheat (both on draft and in bottle).

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured clear, golden, small white head that dissipated quite quickly. Aroma of wheat, some citrus fruit and some yeast. Taste is consistent, yeasty, fruity and not a lot of anything else. This is a nice refreshing summer beer but that’s as far as I’ll go, OK but not great.

excellent fruity smell! slightly cloudy pour that’s light...taste is pretty good with fruit flavor but not great....if it tasted more like the smell it’d be awesome! Needs stronger fruit flavor...maybe it’s expired like other beers from bi-lo?? can’t find date

Nice summer beer here. Had a nice shuttle fruit taste to ensure a smooth finish making it easy to drink all summer long ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a pale straw with an ephemeral fizzy white head. Smells like bud light and passion fruit. Tastes like bud light and passion fruit. I get a little green tea, lemon, very light grain, wheat, tart finish. Palate is fizzy and watery. Meh.

Great beer by Kona Brewing. The only unfavorable I could say about this beer is it is a shame it’s a limited edition.

12 oz. bottle. Pours clear gold/yellow with a soft white head that settles to a wispy film. Aroma has lemon zest a subtle apple scent and malt/yeast. Taste is slightly bitter and tart with more hidden lemon and cider flavors along with malt and yeast. Palate is thin fizzy and dry. What a fruit beer???

Clear gold pour with a thin, creamy white head. Aroma is citrus and tart passion fruit, fruity floral notes, floury wheat and sweet malt. Flavor is wheat, lemony citrus, toast, tart passion fruit, dishwater and light spice. Light body with a strong, blanketing carbonation and off dry, chalky feel. Decent stuff.
