COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Limited release. Swimming in a fresh water pool at the base of a cascading waterfall is what we all imagine we would find in paradise. On Maui, follow the old Hana Highway and you will find such a place – Wailua Falls. This plunging cascade of clear water is the inspiration for our Limited Release Wailua Wheat. This golden, sun colored ale has a bright, citrusy flavor that comes from the tropical passion fruit we brew into each batch. Sit back, relax and enjoy paradise anytime.

Editor’s Note: Lilikoi Wheat was renamed to Wailua Wheat (both on draft and in bottle).

Hazy golden color with little carbonation and little head. The smell isn’t that great....but hints on passion fruit and wheat. Good beer on a warm day when you want something to quench your thirst. Beyond that.......well that’s about it. It has a flat taste with a slight passion fruit twist (could be stronger.)

Pour golden yellow white head not much lace. Aroma hay, fruit juice, adjunct not one of my top smells. Taste mild tropical juice, wheat, strange off taste, meh. MF mild body medium carb. Overall blah strange beer not that good.

I’ve had this a few times now and my opinion seems to vary on it. Sometimes I think it’s too sweet and one-dimensional but today it was working for me -- nice balance of tropical fruit with the more traditional citrusy wheat.

Translucent gold with a thin white head, medium-full body with medium carbonation.

Aroma: grainy wheat, odd fruit, and sulfuric funkiness.

Taste: bright passion fruit and tart green guava, grainy wheat.

This really could have been much worse. As it is, it’s a light orange beer, minimal white head, with a sweet passion fruit thing going on in an otherwise very average wheat ale. It’s inoffensive and cold, and it works just fine for the summer.

Light yellow, crystal clear, head of big bubbles. A fruity, cantaloupe type aroma. Taste of berries or fruit and not much bitterness.

Passion fruit is obvious on the nose and in the flavor. Very acidic, but overall very refreshing and easy to drink.
