COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Limited release. Swimming in a fresh water pool at the base of a cascading waterfall is what we all imagine we would find in paradise. On Maui, follow the old Hana Highway and you will find such a place – Wailua Falls. This plunging cascade of clear water is the inspiration for our Limited Release Wailua Wheat. This golden, sun colored ale has a bright, citrusy flavor that comes from the tropical passion fruit we brew into each batch. Sit back, relax and enjoy paradise anytime.

Editor’s Note: Lilikoi Wheat was renamed to Wailua Wheat (both on draft and in bottle).

Aroma has subtle notes of citrus, with passion fruit slightly evident. Pours a golden color that is clear and glistening. Head is white, but flattens out to virtually nothing on the surface of the beer. Taste is lightly sweet. The palate includes a light to medium body with a thin, creamy texture. Carbonation is soft to flat. This passion fruit brew finishes long, with reminders of the exotic fruit component in the nose. A nice, unique variation of a wheat ale.

Not much to rave about here. Poor is gold with the quickest dissipating head I have seen since ice water. Nose has very little by way of fruit. Taste has a little hint of fruit but very underwhelming on flavor. This doesn’t taste bad. It just doesn’t taste much at all.

Golden pour from bottle with a nice white head. Aroma is heavy on the tropical fruits. Taste is papaya and mango. Decent, interesting, but not great.

Not bad for a seasonal. Could taste a hint of passion fruit. Easy to drink with a light pour

Poured into one of my Kona glasses. Colour is a straw yellow. Very clear for a wheat. Aroma is of tropical fruit, but not off putting. Flavour is clean and refreshing. Slight bitterness, but mostly sweet malted wheat. Overall a favorite summer time beer of mine.

Equivalent to whatever that bud light golden wheat. Thin and watery with some perfumey fruit flavors. Very happy that i bought one bottle and not the sixer. I will give it an extra point for being 5.4% abv.

Solid golden yellow with a white foam. Aroma is spicy, metallic, weak wheat. Taste is metallic, citrusy, fruity, some more wheat.

Bottle... Poured a clear, unfiltered pale, straw/yellow with a thin white head. Aroma had some cracker-like wheat malt and light fruit tones and yeast spice. A retracing wheat with some decent spice, sweetness, floralness, and malt body. Could’ve been a little more dry on the palate. Yeast played nicely though.
