2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 TheHopster (596) - Netcong, New Jersey, USA - SEP 8, 2012(bottle) I was looking for the Passion Fruit in appearance & aroma but it was absent. The flavor is more of a pilsner with sweetness perhaps coming from some passion fruit. The potential was there for something very unique, but it fell short. RB should reconsider the classification of this beer. More of a wheat beer than fruit.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 bagalagalaga (51) - Indiana, USA - MAY 18, 2013
Might be better if it was just a crazy named wheat beer without throwing in a token tropical ingredient. The citrus aftertaste is a little funky and detracts from enjoying the pretty solid wheat beer. Maybe it’s better on a beach when it’s 110F and sunny.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 tmongoose (661) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - MAY 15, 2013
12oz bottle shared . Poured light clear yellow with a fast moving white head. Aroma wise i get very little malt and light fruit. The flavor is just as mild. Carbonated Nd the only fruitiness I get is on the after taste really not a lot going on.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Chuckaduck (489) - Kentucky, USA - MAY 12, 2013
Bottle. 5/11/13. Pours a pale yellow with a thin, bubbly off-white head. Aroma is bitter, earthy, yeast, citrus, bread. Taste is mostly yeasty, bready with some hints of citrus. I pulled no fruit notes out of this other than some faint citrus. Reminds me of the macro-produced American Pale Lager. Looks like urine. Not good. Disappointing.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 zacgillbanks (953) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - MAY 11, 2013
Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. A pale straw coloured beer with sweet passion fruit flavours, slight sugary fruity ‘ice pop’ notes and more sweetness on the finish.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Marc18 (28) - NORTHERN IRELAND - MAY 11, 2013
Imported bottle. Was pleasantly surprised by this, light citrus touches with the passionfruit coming through as a long aftertaste. An enjoyable beer.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 vvesside (147) - California, USA - MAY 7, 2013
Not bad. It’s a pale ale with a bit of citrus and other fruit. Goes down easy, but nothing special.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 wildbeercat (118) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - APR 28, 2013
12 fl oz / 355mL bottle into a pint glass. Served cold.
Aroma: Sweet passionfruit! Smells a little bit tart/sour. Not synthetic, either. Smells like fresh POG juice.
Appearance: Transparent yellow. Soda-like head fizzes down to nothing quickly.
Taste: Sour/tart fruit on arrival, but turns into a nice bready, malty flavor. Pretty good.
Palate: Fizzy fizzy. Feels like soda almost. Light bodied. Pretty clean. No lingering flavors.
Overall: Pretty good fruit beer. The passionfruit smells sweet but tastes tart. Fruity stuff though. Nice contrast with the malt. Quite a pleasant beer.
