Rogueone (311), I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA May 7, 2008 Ummm. If you know what a passion fruit tastes like, and like it, you have a shot at enjoying this beer. I had to smell it 5 or 6 times before I realized it was SUPPOSED to smell like that. 12 oz. bottle: pours a deep golden color, sort of a sweet tart assault on your nose. Starts of citrusy and sweet, then fades to a bittersweet dry finish characteristic of passion fruit.
nearbeer (1102), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jul 25, 2008 12 oz, packaged on May 30, 2008. Clear golden with a small lasting spit above. Aroma is light stale wheat and a hint of catspray. Flavor is stale wheat, cardboard, slight citronella oil, and an acidic fruit juice. Tastes like an under-ripe, bitterish grapefruit-lemon juice mix. Light body is smooth, sort of oily and astringently dry. pumpmaster (256), Florida, USA Jul 25, 2008 12 ounce bottle purchased at Total Wine Fort Lauderdale, FL for $1.99 Nothing special. DTM (329), Winters, California, USA Jul 21, 2008 Bottle from Timfoolery. Poured a cloudy yellow with a white head that almost disappered instantly. Had a strange smell to it of grain and yeast. I know they were going for passion fruit, but all I tasted was a wierd fruit flavor. Good thing its a limited release and not much more of this will be made. BeerFanDan17 (331), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA Jul 21, 2008 Guess you can’t do all varieties well. A skunky dissapointment in this wheat ale from Kona. Sampled at the St. Pete Florida Craft Beer Fest. sebletitje (147), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 20, 2008 Golden witht hin white head. Aroma of wheat, lightly fruity.
Taste is fizzy , wheat and light notes of passion fruit, citrus, givng the beer a nice sweet taste.
Good, clean and refreshing. Not the best wheat out there, wish they had made the passion fruit a little more present.
