mybestfriend (253), Gothenburg, Sweden May 5, 2008 Draught. Reddish brown colour with an off-white head. Aroma is malty with notes of caramel and milk chocolate. Somewhat stale. Flavour is sweet and very malty with notes of fudge, caramel with almost no bitterness.
sayravai (3186), Helsinki, Finland Oct 12, 2008 (Bottled, 0.75l) Dark ruby with a small, tanned and lightly lacy head. Metallic, caramely-malty aroma with hints of dried fruitiness. Caramel-malty, neutral flavor with very faint grassy hops, and some sweetish toffee-buttery notes in the finish. Light to medium body, soft carbonation. A smooth and easily drinkable, but boring and forgettable ale. NosirIwont (879), Aalborg Vestby, Denmark Oct 1, 2008 Bottle. Pours light amber brown with a small off-white head. Quite sweet aroma with fruits, plums. A bit cloying. Earthy notes as it warms. Flavour is sweet with faint notes of chocolate at first, but the fruit notes from the aroma soon take over. Doesn’t feel as cloying as the aroma though. Finish is dry with plums. Mildly bitter with faint grainy and liquorice notes. A bit too much carbonation. Not bad, but not very interesting either. 02-10-08. TBone (5116), Pori, Finland Sep 30, 2008 (Bottled 0,7 l, BB 02/2009).
Clear dark ruby color, small steady beige head. Light grainy caramel aroma, some burned caramel/rubber notes. Thin watery palate, quite carbonated. Brown sugar, toffee, caramel (and crystal?) malts, metallic notes. Also some earthiness, both in aroma and flavor. Short and light grassy, brown sugary aftertaste. Such a boring beer in a quite elegant (and expensive) bottle. Is this really an ale? More like those Scandinavian Christmas Viennas. Beer_2000 (1269), Kristiansand, Norway Sep 1, 2008 750 ml bottle. Reddish brown body with a disappearing off/white head. Aroma of sweet caramel and brown sugar. Flavor is sweet malt and caramel, not so much more. Quite light and actually harmonic but not complex at all. I guess that’s more than less what this beer is supposed to be, but frankly – it’s quite boring. rane (367), Nibe, Denmark Aug 12, 2008 Bottle. Brown beer with pale off white head. Malty aroma with some bread. Taste mainly malt. A little boring
