COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A bottom-fermented dark beer speciality, which is manufactured in traditional Bavarian brewing procedure.

On tap on 6/2/08. Had this at the König Ludwig Biergarten just outside of the Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein castles. I quote my notes "Another boring dunkel. Nothing offensive about this beer, but I’m writing my notes on it one day after I drank it and I don’t remember anything special about it. Just that it was easy to drink but boring and lacking character."

Dark bronze with little tan head. Aroma is roasted nuts and earth (not negative). Taste is a decent bitterness and nothing much else. Fits into the picture very well. Body is full and very smooth mouthfeel. I totally recommend this. It may be not so complex but the one thing it has is perfect.

Pours dark copper brown from the bottle with a creamy head that lingers for the duration. Weak roasted malt and caramel aromas greet the nose. Taste is white bread and caramel malt. The finish trends more towards sour than bitter. The body is on the lightish side. While not watery, a bit more robustness would have done the brew good. That said, this is one of those brews that grew on me over the course of the bottle. Pleasant, smooth, and reliable. However I would have preferred a richer malt taste, and more bitterness and less sourness in the finish.

Bottle in Austria. Dark mahagony colour, with a decent lightbrown head. Nose of light roasted malts with some sourness. Taste is caramell, malts and slight booze. Low-medium carbonation. Very nice dunkel, it’s only mistake is that i asked for a dunkelweizen :(

Tap @ The Concordia Club, Tempe. Muddy brown. Simplistic and slightly hollow, but pleasant aromas and flavours of roasted caramel, grassy hops. Smooth, yet clean and refreshing mouthfeel. Would be a great session beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Wunder sorbar, Budapest. Sweet chocolate malts some really nice smokiness on the nose. Bronze cola color with lacing tan head. Crispy beer, chocolate and roasted malts. Sweetness like banana and maybe cinnamon. A great dunkel!
