3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JAN 16, 2004 Pale coloured, moderate carbonation, very thin head but with an almost soapy lacing. Doughy, hops aroma. Bitterness consistant through finish. A very nice German pils. (500 ml can)

Hoppy--almost thought I had a Budvar (er, Czechvar--don't sue me Anheuser Busch!) but the color was pretty pale and the hoppiness didn't linger as much. A good pils.

Bottle. Fizzy. Salty. Long dusty finish mixed with salt. I'd much prefer a hoppy session bitter. This is making me thirstier. Stupid.

Nice hop aroma. Good bitterness throughout, but not enough to detract from the style. An enjoyable pilsner, and I am not a fan of the style.

Tasted in Toronto from LCBO. Light yellow colour, light white head. Malty sweet aroma with hint of bitterness. Light taste, initially sweet with a bitter finish.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: OCT 30, 2003 Gold body with a respectable white head consisting of small and regular bubbles that stick to the glass pretty well. Grassy/bready cerealic aroma. It begins with pure malts which are quickly followed by good hops shades. Good balance. Medium carbonation, medium to high thickness. Seemed to me like a definition of the style, just not overly interesting.

I drank this one extensively while living in Germany in the early 80's. It doesn't seem to taste as good now. Typical Northern German pils, drier, more bitter and more astringent than its Bohemian cousins.

Can. Golden lager, medium head. Bit of bitterness, bready malt. Average European lager. Not a bad beer but not good enough to make me want another.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Not much to this. Standard Apearance. Seemed heavy for a pilsner. flavor is in no way complex. Aftertaste is bitter. A forgettable brew.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Tap. Typical pilsner appearance. Very slightly citric flavor with a bit of maltiness. Only a little bit of effervescence, and not a very clean finish: these two combined make it a sub-par pils to me.
