3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Premium Pilsner that has gone from flavorful to just bitter yet refreshing like its parent co’s product. "The drier the better" is an unfortunate turn, while the truly world class Pilseners still cover a whole, complex taste spectrum. Exhibit A is Pilsner Urquell -- not that it is my one and only : there is a time and a place for a Camel or a Havana. But never for a clove stick.

I had this one in Italy, pour from bottle. This one was light and crisp which made it very refreshing in the warm evenings.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. A typical dry crisp german pilsener. Pours a gold colour with a thick white head. Dry hoppy and body, with a very refined malt finish. The beer has a dry aftertaste. Good example of it type.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
I tried this beer on October 18, 2007 after purchasing from my local LCBO outlet. The beer poured a very pale gold colour with a large foamy white head which quickly disappeared. The aroma was a combination of citrusy hops with some grainy backup. The mouthfeel was this, slightly watery, with ample carbonation. The flavour was slighty hoppy and a little bitter.

Bottle. Pours a clear straw yellow with a nice fizzy white head. Aroma has a nice clean malt background with a mild hop spiciness. Flavor is very much the same with a pleasant balanced bitter at then end. Light body with high carbonation. Not bad.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A very distinct German Pilsener. Very hop forward and bitter, could use more biscuit character. Still not a huge fan of German pilsener...

500ml can, 4.9% a/v
Pours a light straw colour with a generous white head. Pretty nice looking beer. Nose is light malt with a nice sharp hop note. Tastes malty at first with a very quick move to a bitter hop flavour and then ends very dry and clean. I sampled it a bit warm, definitely would have been better cold. Overall a very nice clean pils.

Corpo molto acquoso. Da dimenticare.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
500mL can: Very grainy aroma with sharp hops. Carbonated, Yellow gold body and thick, frothy white head (very appealing). Flavor is sharp and very bitter with a very subdued malt character and tends to get dryer as the beer warms, leaving a bitter aftertaste behind for many minutes to come. Mouthfeel is crisp, dry and refreshing. Where was this stuff when I was at the festhallen this Oktoberfest? Must’ve missed it...
