OK, right off the bat; watch closely when buying this beer! When fresh, it is very good (as rated below). When old, it’s as bad as a beer can get, with sediment floating around, and the taste of old, stale yeast that is quite... well... bad! Bad batches (mishandled, probably left in a hot warehouse somewhere), seem to be more the norm from my experience.
Now to rate the good batch... pours a nice, deep golden color, with a nice fluffy, long lasting head.
Excellent aroma of fresh sweet malt, and a nice citrusy whiff of hops that blends very nicely with the malt fragrance. Nice, bread like malt flavor, with a very good citrus-hop flavor. Bitter, as a pilsner should be, but there’s quite a bit of malt in this beer to make it all come off well.
If the importers can work out the problems; as they are definitley from mishandled shipments rather than the beer itself being bad, then this tasty brew from Germany could end up being a big hit here on our shores!

Pours a toasted straw with loose, white foam and lots of bubbles in the glass (dirty glass?). Anywho, the effect is pretty. Smells of sweet grain and a hint of noble hops. Classic and pleasant. Lovely pils with good grain and sweet corn hints followed with a bit of bitter subtlety. Thin with moderate carb and a semi dry finish. Good beer.

On tap at The Malt Cross, Nottingham. Bland, fizzy pilsener with watery grain taste and hardly anything lasting in the finish. Not good.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sampled draft @ Dom im Stapelhaus. Completely clear pale golden with a white head. Nose is sweet grains, white sugar, faint metals & dash lemon, nose is pretty weak overall. Tastes is sweet, grains, metallic, touch mineral, sweet sugar, light malt & grassy hops. Totally clean as in every part of this feels processed to death. Industrial but actually enjoyable, odd but agreeable.

Clear golden beer with fluffy head on top. Aroma has sweet honey with malts but really unpleasant aroma that is really close to urea. Taste has sweet honey and at the end some grassy hop flavors. Light body and carboantion.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
Can bought at LIDL in Bratislava/Slovakia. At first I thought this was gonna be a blah bad beer so I bought it just for out of curiosity, I do not remember whether I have had I anytime in the past. I used to go to Germany many times in my life several years ago. It is a typical German eurolager. Head vanished in no time, typical sweet malty aroma and taste. However a surprisingly bitter finish I did not expect from this pilsener style beer at all! Overall this eurobeer pilsener style is not that bad as I first thought regarding its category! A nice thirst killer after sport!
