UPDATED: FEB 21, 2011 500ml can. A very good pilsener, very smooth mouthfeel and excellent taste of fresh lemony, springy hops, Der Koenig der Biere? Maybe not, but it beats the shit out of Budweiser. ____________________________ 12 oz bottle, I’ve also had this from a can and it was pretty good. It pours a deep gold with a nice big white head. One of the better smelling pilseners, this is the definition of a balanced traditional pilsener in the nose. It is one of the more flavorful pilseners, it is nicely balanced, not the best flavor, but good. It’s a great pilsener, maybe better out of the can too which is rare. From the 500 ml. can with an expiration date of 05-13-2016. It pours pale yellow with a lot of bubbly carbonation leading up to a lingering white foamy head. The aroma is bready, clean, and grassy. Light, easy drinking body. Overall just a clean, crisp quaffable Pilsener with toasty sweetness and mildly dry finish. I see nothing wrong with it. It depicts the style well.

the aroma is malty and herbal with shades of grain, hops and spicy grasses... the taste is clear and refreshening, malty and hoppy with notes of grain and spicy herbs... the aftertaste is bitter and dry...

Bottle from pilsner tasting, thanks Poisoneddwarf- Pours golden with small head. Aroma is grassy and lightly sweet. The taste is grassy, light hops, sweet, tastes old.

Oft getrunken. Aus irgendeinem Grund gibts Köpi in Schleswig-Holstein gefühlt an jedem zweitem Hahn. Flaches, etwas süßliches Pils mit hohem Kohlensäuregehalt.

Bottle nearing its expiration date. L: poured in a Pilsner flute it showcases great carbonation in a clear straw body, a finger of white fluffy head, nice lacing. S: a full bready malt aroma, deep and rich. Perhaps a little one-dimensional due to age. T: deliciously full-flavoured malt, bread and biscuit with a light citrus tang or gentle spice. F: superb feel, spritzy start that rounds off nicely into a full malt with a clean dry end. O: a great no frills German pils, one of my old faves that never disappoints, even when a tad unfresh.

Large can.

Yellow pour, white head, modest carbonation. A bit sweet, a bit cardboardy, not really the fresh grassy hop snap one would be looking for. Mediocre.

Bottle shared on the train from Nuremberg to Freising during day 3 of the Bamberg Jolly of January 2015. Pours perfectly clear pale yellow with a frothy, white head. Nice and drinkable, with sugary pale cereal, biscuits, mellow bitter straw. Light bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish, simple, with lightly toasted cereal, hay. Nice one.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 5D). Bottle 33 cl - Batch 07:01. AROMA: medium-low grainy-sweet aroma with a faint herbal hop presence on the background. APPEARANCE: straw color and translucent. small moussy white head with poor retention. TASTE: moderate grainy-sweet flavour with slight herbal hop notes. medium bitterness and a semi-dry and bitter aftertaste. PALATE: medium-light body with moderate-low carbonation. OVERALL: an average comercial german pils with less hop intensity.

Bottle from Jumbo supermarket, Portimao, Portugal. Pale straw coloured with a sweet malty and grassy flavour with gentle floral fruity notes on the smooth vanilla finish.

Quite bitter clear golden Tv pilsener from Duisburg. Ordinary straw or grass notes. Yeasty taste and above mentioned. For me the stereotype of a german Television beer...
