2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Can, pours light golden color with small white head, that doesn’t stick around. Smells light and sweet. Taste is light with a nice mellow bitterness that ends wet and fades slowly. Mouthfeel is lively with heavy carbonation. Not bad.

50cl Bottle @ home. A soft sweetish pilsener, a bit citrussy with a slightly bitter finish. Dry mouthfeel, refreshing. Way better than expected.

Fairly average pilsener overall. Aroma is hops of perhaps... spruce? Fairly light, goes down okay. Though the taste is a little sour.

500ml draft: poured a very light yellow with a fairly large white head. Light aroma of hops, slight grape. Flavor is quite thin with just a sprinkling of hop flavor. This is a very light pilsener and almost devoid of flavor. Still, it was refreshing at the restaurant’s bier garten we were sitting in. After 3 liters, it was time to go home.

Had this on the banks of the Rhine on a beautiful sunny afternoon in their brewery’s swanky glassware. Found it was a good attempt at a pilsner and one could do far worse, clean crisp and refreshing. Page 265 of Michael Jackson’s Great Beer Guide and only 348 out of his 500 Classic Brews to go.

(bottle, now called Pilsener instead of Pils with new label-design) Clear, pale golden colour with a nice blond foamy white head. Rather shy aroma with malty, slightly grainy sweetness and herbal, very light grassy hops. Bitter, slightly sweet flavour, light to medium body, ok carbonation. Initially malty taste, turning rapidly into moderate herbal hoppy, slightly perfumed flavours; dryish, quite papery, slightly bitter and hoppy finish. Hardly average quality.

Draft in Koblenz. Very light flavor, full of carbonation. Slightly bitter aftertaste but enjoyable pub bier. If you delay in the Koblenz train station, wander into town for a draft.
