3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Koelschtrinker (8471) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 18, 2011
Röstig-prickelnder Antrunk, leicht herb. 13/9/9/9/11/9
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 rotoguru (126) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAR 26, 2010
7th beer on German tour (with beer 6 being another unknown but good Dunkel; the dunkel have proven to be the best but I didn’t get teh brewers).
Very dark with medium to thin head. Good dark/choco malts, burnt tones but rather thin body and slips away from palate despite being a black beer. Unremarkable but drinkable.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 pivnizub (7981) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - JUL 10, 2008
Bottle (thanx to Quack-Duck!): Murky brown coloured, quickly vanishing head; light to moderate dry roast-malty nose with a small amount of caramalt in the background; light dry bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied; fruity traces in the roast-malty and a bit sourish finish. Not bad, a brew according to the style.....
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 MoritzF (7756) - Bochum, GERMANY - APR 25, 2008
(33cl bottle, courtesy of Quack-Duck) Hazy, dark amber colour with a huge and slowly lacing beige foamy head. A bit dusty, slightly sweet and roasty malt aroma with a whiff of coffee, marzipan and a touch of grassy hops in the background. Light to moderate bitter flavour, backed by a shy malty sweetness, light to medium bodied with a medium carbonation. Slightly roasted malt-character with traces of coffee and chocolate; moderately dry and slightly bitter finish with shy hoppy notes. Decent Schwarzbier (24.04.08).
