[Sampled in 2005.] A nice wit ...or weiss, caused by some german notes. Not that bad.

33 cl bottle, from Monastery gift shop just outside Cadubec en Caux, France. Pours mostly clear yellowish orange with a huge fluffy white head and abundant bubble streams from the bottom of the glass. Citrus, wheaty aroma with yeast and spice accompanied by a somewhat pungent, almost mildewy note which brought the score down a bit. Tart and refreshing flavor, wheaty cereal grains, bolstered by more citrus and spice. Light to medium body and crispy-tingly carbonation. Not bad.

Bottle 330ml. Nice golden color, and persistent foamy. Fruity aroma, notes of Banana like Paulaner. Flavor is balanced bitter and fruity. Nice mouthfeel.. Cerveja turva, espuma persistente. Aroma frutado com notas de banana como a Paulaner. Sabor balanceado entre o amargo e o frutado. Retrogosto saboroso.

330ml bottle as La Trappe Witte Trappist purchased at The Fine Food store, Kastrup airport. Rocky white foam fading into a filmy layer. Hazy, orange body. Fresh aroma with vagues notes of cloves. Candy sweet taste with late banana flavours. Very average for its style (Rating #1004, 04.08.2007)

Bottle: Pours Hazy golden with a huge, creamy white head. Weat nose with bananas and corn. Flavour of yeast, light fruit and spices. Light to medium bodied. Fine tasty finish. A well done witte.

Bought this in Tilburg as La Trappe Witte. Cloudy light golden body with a large white head. Rather weak in terms of my expectations. Not a whole lot of flavor, slight citrus/spice, but not enough. I would have liked more sweet melon/orange flavors, but this was really lacking in that department. Moderate alcohol content for the style, and adequate "astringent" qualities from the grains, but that was it.

Bottle, Large head, hazyish hue with a fruity-yeasty aroma, fairly light tasting with an enjoyably fruity finish, very much a summer beer. Enjoyable.

Pale hazy golden body, very light almost cider like. A thick fizzi head that disapears fast. Aroma is weak of banana and spices. Flavor of banana and little wheat and spices. Little cidery. Palate is thin but sparkling.
