My Bottom Line:
This corporate witbier sports formal coriander milkiness alongside polite straw and subservient citrusy fruitiness. A rather bland Trappist product aiming for the masses.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam remains around the misty pale golden.
-The finish is rather forgettable, another reason this feels like a macro.
-The fizzy carbonation is a little too harsh for my tastes in witbier, but the overall lack of substance might be the culprit here.
-The style’s typical yeast signature is adequately expressed.

Bottle; best before November 2007. -

The pour reveals a cloudy pale gold color with a medium white head. Strong aroma of doughy yeast with some lemon. The flavor isn’t too good, the lemon is weak and the yeast takes all the place. The palate is classic for a witbier, thick, soft and creamy. I’m not a huge fan of witbiers but I like to have a good one when I have the chance but this isn’t good at all.

Partly cloudy yellow body with a large white head. Aroma of cereals and wet stuff. Not very pleasant. Taste is rather characterless. Chewy cereals, some white flour flavour, somewhat yeasty, rather lemony. Short finish. Nothing wrong, just a boring yeasty lemonade. Don’t buy it, it’s a Trappe but it’s a trap.

Bottle at home. Citrusy smell and quite creamy. Really enjoyed this. This is apparently the only white Trappist, or so according to the beer shop. It’s quite tangy and sweet - some banana flavor - and incredibly smooth.

Hazy honey gold hue, with a white head, nice yeasty citrusy nose, with some wheat and pale malt notes, with a subtle coriander spiciness, with a lemon fuitiness in the aroma follows through on a light-bodied palate with a crisp sweet honeyish wheaty character, with light spiciness, hint of citrus flowery hops, leading towards a mild sweet rounded and delicate hop finish.

bottle. Pours light hazy yellow with good sized (and somewhat lasting) white head. Nice soft carbonation. Lemony aroma with a touch of banana. Aroma is very characteristic, and some people might not like this. Taste also dominated by fresh lemon notes as well as a nice wheat base. Some resemblence to Hoegaarden, though slightly "fuller" taste. All in all quite simple, but very nice.

Bottle: Poured a light yellow color ale with a huge foamy pure white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of wheat is dominating with some very subtle coriander. Taste is also dominated by wheat with some limited spices and yeast characteristic being noticeable. Body is quite light and even if label mention that this beer is not filtrated I am guessing that it is somewhat filtrated. Interesting an refreshing but really lacking something to make this a great beer.

(Bottle) Pours light yellow/golden. Big white head. Strong sweet banana and citric aroma with some spices, cloves and allspice. Bubbelgum-ish and a thouch of candy. Some green herbs and maybe a tiny hint of violet. Sweet flavour with banana skids and a light spicy backbone. A small touch of dry bitterness in the finish with a sting of citric sourness. A bit salty. Small body.
