COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The world’s first and only Trappist white ale that continues to ferment slightly after bottling. Brewed using only water, wheat, and hops. No herbs are added. Saphir hops give the ale its citrusy aroma. A real thirst-quencher on a hot summer’s day that also makes for a delicious drink at any other time of the year.

Hazy Golden pour, medium off white head. Aroma is hops and sour fruits. Flavour is just right, not too sweet, not too sour, with a nice bitter backbone. Perfect palate for a wit summer beer. Awesome.

Bottle says La Trappe Witte Trappist. Pours a pale golden beer with a nice big white head. Fruity aroma. Taste of lemon and wheat. Enjoyed it mostly because we were sitting on the balcony in the sun; it’s good for refreshment.

Bottle. La Trappe Witte Trappist on the label. Pours a hazy yellow beer with a beautiful white head. La Trappe is a great brewery but expected more from this one. Hints of wheat, yeast and some fruits in the aroma. Taste was fruity and some faint wheat flavors. Gets better when it warms up a bit. Still nice and refreshing.

Bottle: Very big slowly disappearing white foamy head. Smell is a mix of wheat, fruit (lemon) and some hints of hops. Hazy clear (white) yellow color Fresh lemon and wheats taste. Just slight hints of bitter and citric and even lesser hints of water and hops, but it’s all there. Well balanced and a top white beer when drank cold (in warm weather). Note: The only witte trappist in the world!

330 ml bottle. As La Trappe Witte Trappist. From the Netherlands.
Hazy yellow golden colour with average to big white head. Aroma is wheat, sweet caramel, fruits, citrus and coriander. Some bitterness, yeast (Belgian), wheat, citrus, coriander and some spices in flavour. Smooth and soft palate. Rather good Witbier with some Trappist twist.

33cl bottle, better known as La Trappe Witte Trappist
Pours a hazy yellow to golden color with a decent white head and lots of carbonization.
The aroma is spicy with a refreshing bread, wheat touch. The taste is spicy with a refreshing citrus taste. The aftertaste is very short and has some citrus notes.
A refreshing white.

UPDATED: AUG 15, 2011 13/08/2011 on tap @ La Trappe Koningshoeven (2011-x)

Cloudy deep yellow beer, creamy white head, stable and adhesive, nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: citrus, coriander, spices, bit grassy. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: citric to lemony sour start, wheat is clearly present, spices, bit sweet. Aftertaste: citrus, lots of coriander, bit sour and some yeast. Weird, I remembered this to be one of the better ones I had had before, but clearly it’s not. Is it the difference between bottled and on tap? Note: old review below.

around 2/05/2010:
Ar: 7, Ap: 4, T: 8, P: 4, O: 15, Total: 3.8 Pours a light yellow beer, very fine laced white head. Smells like yeast and lemon peel. Sweet to bitter tastes in the beginning, with a very pleasing mouthfeeling due to a lot of carbon. Ending in sour and bitter tones with lemon peel.
