The world’s first and only Trappist white ale that continues to ferment slightly after bottling. Brewed using only water, wheat, and hops. No herbs are added. Saphir hops give the ale its citrusy aroma. A real thirst-quencher on a hot summer’s day that also makes for a delicious drink at any other time of the year.

33cl bottle. Hazy yellow with a big white head. Nose : Yeasty smell with citrus notes. I sense also some horseradish and yogurt like aromas. Sip (finally) : Smooth body with typical carbonation for this kind of beer. Fluffy but not annoying.Nose aromas came into life and I also discovered that it wasn’t my hands (while food preparation) that had that smoky aroma around the beer, it was definitely the beer. There is something about this beer that push it towards blonde ale. Nice.

330 ml bottle picked up in Belgium and dragged off to Germany. Pours a hazy gold color with a short lived white head, some lacing. Very spicy, fruity aroma with lemon peel, orange and banana. Taste is lightly dry, acidic and very spicy with lemon peel, orange and hint of banana. Palate is light, but ends a lttle too dry for me. A good beer on a hot day in the summer.

Bottle bought @ Systembolaget and consumed on September 17. Pours a hazy light yellow liquid with a big white head. Smell is yeasty with banana and cilantro. Taste is sweet and filled with citrus and banana. Carbonation is prominent which adds to a rather full mouthfeel. Aftertaste is dry which results in a very refreshing beer.

Bottle. Poured light yellow with large head that retained. Very nice spicy, citrus aroma. Taste is similar with some grain and malt sweetness. Very nice.

Bottle. Clear pale yellow pour with foamy white head. Coriander and wheat dominated aroma, pretty straightforward witbier. Taste is quite wheaty, nice light spicy caracter. Palate is light and crisp, very spritzy, high carbonation. A classic if not very innovative example of the style.

Pale, golden coloured, cloudy beer with a big white head. There are citrus, bread and yeast in the aroma. It also has citrus and light sweetness in the taste. The body is rather light, the texture is thin and the carbonation is soft.

Draught at Cafe Buitenlust, Oirschot. Pale yellow color, nice white head. Not the best smell but a nice refreshing taste. Medium carbonation and low to medium body.

Bottle. Pale and cloudy golden beer with a very strong white head. The aroma is quite citric and yeasty, and the flavour is lemony and yeasty with a fairly long bitter finish. Overall a reasonable witbier.
