3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: AUG 15, 2011 13/08/2011 on tap @ La Trappe Koningshoeven (2011-x)
Cloudy deep yellow beer, creamy white head, stable and adhesive, nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: citrus, coriander, spices, bit grassy. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: citric to lemony sour start, wheat is clearly present, spices, bit sweet. Aftertaste: citrus, lots of coriander, bit sour and some yeast. Weird, I remembered this to be one of the better ones I had had before, but clearly it’s not. Is it the difference between bottled and on tap?

Pours a light yellow beer, very fine laced white head. Smells like yeast and lemon peel. Sweet to bitter tastes in the beginning, with a very pleasing mouthfeeling due to a lot of carbon. Ending in sour and bitter tones with lemon peel.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tastes like what I would expect a macro wit to taste like. Has all the moves, but no real heart and soul. Drinkable and certainly not contemptable - just lacking ticker and the determination to win. lower 2nd division seems about right.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle (La Trappe Witte Trappist), a hazy gold with a large white frothy head. A generous yeasty nose of wheat and clove spice. Dry wheat on the palate at first, but then creamy and full. Not much sweetness, light lemon flavours with only touches of spice. A good simple Wit.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at St. Veronus. Hazy pale yellow with a solid white head. Typical orange-spice-wheat aroma for the style, with the emphasis being on the citrus. A little mild, though. Lots of wheat in the flavour, along with the other requisite flavours. A little thin. Not bad, but I expected better.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Van Eetvelde. Pours chill hazy yellow with a thick meringue head. Refreshing profile, well balanced, smooth body unlike a wheat rich wheatbeer. Subtle coriander and lemon notes. A bit soapy. Taste is sweet with a mild sourness. Good brew.

Shared this one w/ SkyCop32. Picked up in Bruges by my friend Patriot Maintenence. Pours a light golden amber color. Aromas of citrus/coriander/some hops. I not big a beers with coriander like tastes. Probably a good beer just not my cup of beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Lightly orange/corriander aroma as expected. Chalky gold with a light white head. Light and refreshing though a bit strong on the corriander finish.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
330 ml bottle, as La Trappe Witte Trappist, bought at Systembolaget, Sweden. ABV is 5.5%. Looks crystal clear in the bottle, but there is some sediment. Pours crystal clear pale yellow with a huge head. Slightly hazy when the yeast is poured in the end. Fresh and attractive aroma with notes of mild spices (coriander, cloves), hints of citrus. Light bodied (verging on "thin"). Mildly spicy flavour (coriander and cloves again), refreshing.
