COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The world’s first and only Trappist white ale that continues to ferment slightly after bottling. Brewed using only water, wheat, and hops. No herbs are added. Saphir hops give the ale its citrusy aroma. A real thirst-quencher on a hot summer’s day that also makes for a delicious drink at any other time of the year.

Bottle "La trappe Witte Trappist". Pale, hazy with large white head. Aroma of bananas, citrus and seville orange. A nice, dry wit with a rather short aftertaste.

33cl bottle (exp 4/10) labelled "La Trappe Witte Trappist" from First Choice Liquor Stores. Pours clear effervescent pale yellow with an ample bubbly loose white head that lasts. Aromas of lemon citrus and bready wheat malts. Tastes similar with a hint of bananas in the finish. Lively spritzy mouthfeel. A simpler wit than Hoegaarden (no curacao or coriander spices) but decent nonetheless and usually cheaper to buy in Australia.

On tap at the Cheeky Monk in Denver. Wow, underrated beer! Great hazy orangish-blond appearance with a huge, lasting creamy white head and great lacing. Aroma is wheat, yeast, citrus, banana, and coriander. Flavor is pale malt and wheat, yeast, coriander and other spices, orange peel, banana, and clove. A bit sweet, but not too much. Palate is smooth and fairly light with soft carbonation. High drinkability. A great witbier!

I’m really more of a bavarian weat beer kind of guy, minus the lederhosen. There have to be something extra in a wit to make me smile. Unfortinately this one don’t have that extra to it. While being very refreshing, it’s not much more than that.

330ml bottle. Mountain of deep snow white foam atop a pale opaque light honey coloured base. Aromas of citrus and cloves. Sweet yeasty notes come through with a lively mouthfeel and a sweet zestiness. A little light but substantial enough.
