The world’s first and only Trappist white ale that continues to ferment slightly after bottling. Brewed using only water, wheat, and hops. No herbs are added. Saphir hops give the ale its citrusy aroma. A real thirst-quencher on a hot summer’s day that also makes for a delicious drink at any other time of the year.

Bottle with a logo La Trappe witte trappist. Yellow, clear with a medium head. Aroma; wheat and some wheat. Taste; wheat, not a weissssbierfan so the rating is, well...

Pours a hazy light straw color with a thin white top. Nose is very mild, with some citrus, wheat and light malty notes. Aroma is also very (too?) subtle, with hints of kiwi, coriander and grass coming forth after a few sips and swirls. It takes some time to get the subtle flavors out of this one, but once I get them they are quite delicious. Nevertheless, this is a rather forgettable wit, despite its Trappist stamp.

Opálos, világos arany színű, melynek tejszínre emlékeztető habja végig megmarad vékonyan a főzet tetején .

As La Trappe Witte. Bottle, from Cold Storage, KL. Nice hazy pale yellow with relatively stable tight head. Witbier yeast estery aroma has some nice floral notes but is not perfumy. Coriander seeds are especially apparent. Generally the aroma is bright and fresh. Light soft palate with moderate yeast thickness and stickiness. Tastes like it smells with lots of spice and mild calamansi. Taste is a little bland and thin around the edges but is better than expected and overall not bad.

Cloudy yellow. Herbal, spicy aroma (coriander, florals, white pepper). Spicy, peppery character with a dry, slightly acidic herbal finish. Nice wit.

It wasn’t really what I was expecting. I didn’t see how they really called this a "witte". It doesn’t really share any characteristics of a witte. Anyway, to the beer - it pours very clear has restrained sweetened hoppiness of a good abbey. However, it has very light mouthfeel.
