COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The world’s first and only Trappist white ale that continues to ferment slightly after bottling. Brewed using only water, wheat, and hops. No herbs are added. Saphir hops give the ale its citrusy aroma. A real thirst-quencher on a hot summer’s day that also makes for a delicious drink at any other time of the year.

Pours cloudy copper golden with a decent head. Wheat aroma, not very strong. Taste of citrus and spices. Slight on the sour side. Small noticable bitterness lingering in the finish along with the sourness. Light bodied and slight watery. High carbonation.

Spicy aroma in a yellow pour. Interesting brew that is nicely balanced and deliciously refreshing. Goes to show that old dogs can learn new tricks.

a little lemon funk forward, more on the nose than in the flavor. Otherwise surprisingly boring, for a wit or as a trappist beer. Expected more.

Just a rather sweet and aromatic beer with no discernible features. Yes, it appeared white, but so does photocopier paper. I’ll stick to the new world, thanks

Bottle from the Haymakers, Chesterton, Cambridge. Yellow and clear like a Kristallweizen (a Kristallwit?), bit white head which quickly disappears. Ground coriander aroma with strong citrus and yeast notes. The glory is in the taste: sweet, spicy and refreshing. Lots of carbonation but it seems to work for this beer. Tastes stronger than the advertised 5.5%. All in all it’s quite an ’accessible’ witbier but I like it quite a lot.
