The world’s first and only Trappist white ale that continues to ferment slightly after bottling. Brewed using only water, wheat, and hops. No herbs are added. Saphir hops give the ale its citrusy aroma. A real thirst-quencher on a hot summer’s day that also makes for a delicious drink at any other time of the year.

Pale golden color, hazy; white head - aroma of spices, belgian yeast, some citrus notes, wheat, a bit watery - taste is slightly sweet and slightly bitter- medium body, rather thin texture, average to lively carbonation - finish with aroma of cerals and grains, slightly bitter.

Opaque light gold, strong white head. Yeasty wheat, malt and some hoppiness (I’d call it Saaz, but it probably isn’t (I’ve located my eyes and realize it’s Saphire). Yeasty sourness with some bitter hop notes. Finishes bitter with slight dryness. Quite different from most Wits - and quite nice!

On tap at In de Wildeman in Amsterdam in 2009 rated from notes. Served in a weizen glass it was a beautiful soft cloudy gold with a fluffy white head leaving behind great lacing. The aroma//flavor was a fairly standard weizen vearing more towards spicy cloves which is what I enjoy. A satisfying standard white beer.

Yellowish colour with stable white head. So white I am suspitious of tetrahop usage but dont think so really. Yeasty aroma with some fruits. It is a good beer but I wont become a regular consumer of this one.

Forse la migliore witte in circolazione. Dal colore pallido, ma non torbido, con sentori agrumati, rinfrescante assai

De monninken weten precies wat ze doen met dit bier. Geweldig wit bier. Drinkt makkelijk weg, mooie kleur en ruikt fantastisch.

From the bottle pours a yellow troubled beer with a nice foam covering. It had all the typical white beer marks. This all results in a refreshing beer which maybe is used best in the summer. In the Netherlands it’s never hot so you can drink it whole the year! Our all night long, all night!

330ml bottle poured in its own tulip glass @ Domus brewery - Leuven, Belgium A: Pours the traditional cloudy yellow to beige color forming a big white aired and bubbled head. Medium retention and many lacings left S: Also smells like a traditional white beer. Very spicy and refreshing. Wheat, coriander, citrus hops, orange zest and yeasts T: Follows the nose. However, much less tasty that I’ve expected. Taste is quite dry and again, the combination of wheat, coriander, orange zest and citrus hops M: Light body. Good carbonation. Mild citrus and bitter aftertaste O: Very drinkable and refreshing beer as expected from the style. Low ABV. But I still prefer a Hoegaarden :) [ BA Review @ 12/29/2011 ]
