La única blanca trapista, aunque quizá eso es lo único realmente particular de esta cerveza. El aspecto es el típico de una wit, de un amarillo claro turbio con espuma espesa aunque escasa. El aroma es especiado y frutal, en especial cítricos y clavo, muy placentero. El trago presenta un cuerpo medio y un sabor poco intenso aunque muy completo y refrescante, con toques algo amargos y poca carbonatación. Una cerveza deliciosa, pero que no aporta nada nuevo al mundo de las blancas como cabía esperar de la "primera blanca trapense". Supongo que ese papel quedó para la wit de St. Bernardus, que sin tener tal denominación resultó ser justo lo que esperaba de esta de La Trappe.

32oz day-old growler from The Party Source, filled for $10.50. Shared with family. Mostly clear golden color. Thin white head. Just a couple loose dots of lace. Medium body. Smooth, lightly soft light to moderate carbonation. Lightly dry in the finish. Nice light to moderate spice character. Hint of banana. Good zesty citrus peel, perfect amount of belgian yeast character. Nice zesty taste, light sweet taste. Solid, enjoyable, a bit more complex belgian wit. Tasty and easy drinking.

Pours a pale golden beer with a good white head. I smell lemons. Nothing more. Taste is ok. Bit bitter. The palate is weak. Fizzy carbo.

Pours pale yellow, a bit cloudy, white above medium top. Aroma of mostly unripe fruits, a bit fresh apply, plus mild malt sweetness plus yeasty profile. Not bad,refreshing but lacks in intensity of flavour. Light body, a bit malty-floury texture.

Poured a cloudy golden orange with a frothy white head. Aroma of zesty citrus. Medium body, flavour is not very spiced, more a muted banana with little aftertaste.

Bière blanche magnifiquement habillée dans une bouteille marquée en relief du nom Trappist et d’un blason de l’abbaye, et tout ceci à 2 endroits, avec en plus une étiquette de forme ogivale. Couleur jaune paille un rien brillant. Léger voile diaphane. Bulles peu nombreuses, mais jolie mousse blanche pure qui vient napper à 2 mm avec un aspect très lisse. Arômes de très beau froment et houblon, coriandre, camomille. 1ère bouche à la texture très douce, offrant une très belle prise douce mais nette, parfaitement délimitée. Arrière-bouche magnifique sur des céréales légères et des fleurs. 2ème bouche avec du houblon aromatique sur un lit de fleur/fruits blancs/bois blanc. 3ème bouche soyeuse, douce, parfaitement équilibrée fleur et houblon. Une vraie master classe. Longueur parfaite, constante, comme une balade le long d’un étang calme. Levure en douceur et finesse, parfaite pour le thème. Alcool bien pour le sujet. Finale douce et subtile à la fois. Grande réalisation, et de toute façon la seule blanche brassée par des trappistes. Donc, si vous êtes un inconditionnel trap, c’est la bière à avoir pour étoffer le genre. Mais même sans cette considération, cette blanche est absolument remarquable en tout point.

Tap at Reuben’s. Pours a slightly hazy orange gold with very fine white head, lots of thin lacing. Aroma is sweet, wheaty, cereal, citrus, and coriander. Flavor is mild and wheaty up front, building significantly, and fading into moderate citrus and coriander tones. Soft carbonation, medium body, and very smooth texture. Well balanced, a very enjoyable witbier.

Tap at Black Door, Helsinki. Colour is hazy light orange with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Belgian yeast, fruits, wheat and malts.

Nice witte with golden yellow medium body. Tastes of citrus, banana, yeast and maybe clover. Smells mostly of yeast and citrus. Excellent fat creammy head. Very nice witte.

draft at Blue Monk, pale yellow pour, light lemon notes, mild coriander & citrus zest. Not overly flavorful. somewhat disappointing considering the brewer
