The world’s first and only Trappist white ale that continues to ferment slightly after bottling. Brewed using only water, wheat, and hops. No herbs are added. Saphir hops give the ale its citrusy aroma. A real thirst-quencher on a hot summer’s day that also makes for a delicious drink at any other time of the year.

Good beer. You can taste light citrics notes with the wheat. Light body and refreshing.

33cl glass from the tap at Bit in Den Haag. Pours a hazy golden yellow colour with a big creamy head which slowly diminishes to a thick layer on top and leaves a fair amount of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, orange zest, cloves, ginger, bit of yeast. Moderate sweet, light bitter with a strong spicy finish. Notes of yeast, citrus, ginger, cloves, coriander, orange zest, grain. Texture is a bit watery, light bodied with soft carbonation

UPDATED: OCT 14, 2016 On tap in Greenville, SC. Very large, foamy, off-white head over a sparkling amber body. Heavily spiced banana bread in the nose. Flavor: Spicy to the point of medicinal, but better than that description sounds. Lingering aftertaste of mixed spices and faint wheat. Medium-light body with medium-high carbonation.

Clear straw-like yellow color. Solid and lasting white head. Intense wheaty-malty scent with aromas of tropical fruits, lemon and orange zest, herbs (ginger, coriander, cloves) and grains. Fruitiness dominates in its taste, followed by spiciness of mentioned herbs. Kind of bitter aftertaste. Very hoppy one for a "witbier", but interesting nonetheless.

Bottle. Pours hazy yellow with tall white head. Aroma has light malt, wheat, citrus and notes of coriander. Taste is light malty with coriander and citrus, and quite lightbodied. Finish is semi-sweet yet dry.

Bottle. Hazy yellow with nice white head. Aroma of wheat and spices, surprisingly not much coriander, more saisonish way. In taste sweet (too sweet for me) with wheat, light citrus, there is light coriander note too. Medium body, high carbonation, lightly sour finish. Not bad wit-ish beer.

Citrus and spices, cloudy yellow, light boody, medium carbonation, citrus, a bit watery...not a great witte but a good beer afterall.

Bottle, 330ml. *** Colour: Hazy pale yellow. Huge, fluffy white head. *** Nose: Rather mild aroma of yeast, lemon, banana & spices. *** Mouthfeel: Medium body, hardly watery. Moderate carbonation. *** Taste: Predominantly yeast at the outset, along with hints of spices & banana. Rather dry. Doesn’t change much through the middle to the finish. A lot of yeast. Aftertaste is lemony and yeasty. *** Impressions: Rather less distinct and characterful as Hoegaarden, but still typical of the witbier style (i.e. less sweet, less fruity, leaner than a German hefe). Very refreshing, but a bit one-dimensional.

Pours hazy golden with a rapidly diminishing white head. Malty and wheaty aroma. Definitely has something breadish. Quite fine. Tastewiste pretty Hefeweizen-like. This is not a Belgian White if you ask me. But tastewise, it is quite pleasant. Mildly sweet with some fresh fruity notes. Some citrus, some orange... Bits of coriander for a spicy kick. Aftertaste is somewhat bland, but it remains pretty fresh and no-nonsense. Great, approachable quencher that definitely has something to offer.
