Pivo spytihněv je silné (14°) a speciálně chmelené. Na rozdíl od běžných piv je Spytihněv za studena dochmelován v ležáckém tanku. Nejedná se o dochmelování chmelový extraktem, ale o klasický hlávkový chmel typicky české odrůdy Žatecký poloraný červeňák. Chmelové šištice se nejméně měsíc „louhují“ v pivu, aby jej udělaly aromatičtějším a hořčejším.

Bottle from somewhere in Prague. Pours clear golden with a big white head. Aroma of bready and doughy malts. Taste is moderate sweet, grainy, light sticky mouthfeel, dry herbal finish. Noticeable alcohol.

(keg) clear golden colour with a frothy white head. aroma of powdered sugar, vanilla and yeast, with quite a bit of diacetyl and some cobwebs. flavour is very sweet, with lots of powdered sugar and more heavy butter. medium-bodied with average carbonation.

Very poor...

Keg at Mother Kelly’s. It pours clear golden with a decent white head. The nose is doughy, toasty, light sweetness, spice and grain. The taste is crisp, bitter-sweet, honey, toasty, mild toast and grain. Drying finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. Straight-forward Euro strong lager.

Appearance : Clear dark golden color. Huge white head.
Taste : Medium sweet, very light spicy/herbs.
Palate : Full body. Long astringent, bitter, light warm finish.
Overall : Full, sweet, above average.
