COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This traditional Porter is black in colour and boasts a thick, rocky, brown head which laces the glass. The ale is brewed with a combination of dark, roasted and chocolate malts and is hopped with Northern Brewer (United Kingdom).
This beer has flavours of chocolate, roasted coffee, and a delicate milk sweetness. The subtle bitterness cuts through the rich, sweet malt flavours magnificently.

Poured coal black with big brown head that actually stayed the whole journey. Aroma sweet malts with hint of coffee and chocolate, pleasant but a bit simple. Taste an interesting coffee/chocolate blend with long cocoa finish. Sily on palate with soft creamy carbonation, but thin of body. Overall, lacked complexity but with full flavours, I don’t care.

Pitch black poor with a superb off white head that sticks around. Aroma of coffee and sweetness. Smooth and full flavour. Coffee mixes with some chocolate. Great milk stout very tasty.

Just on cool and into a snifter. Bright, cola brown in the shallows and black as midnight for the rest. Head holds at just a mere wafer, off-white and shiny. Fresh roasted coffee with a side of milk pretty much sums up the aroma but there is underlying hints of moss and cellar must, charred wood and mace. Quite dry, chalky and smooth in the finish. Body is good; not hefty but ample here. Quite malty, woody and chocolaty. Dark chocolate does dominate. Long finish, woody dry and dominated by more chocolate. Quite a nice brew. Easily downed, sessionable and balanced. Good stuff! (33cL, no date stamp, The Liquor Shed, Jandakot)

330ml bottle. Black pour with a tan head. Strong mocha aroma, very sweet. Taste is initially sweet but rounded out with some cocoa bitterness. Quite hoppy also which gives a little fruit flavour. Medium carbonation and a light mouthfeel

From 330 ml bottle. Pours a very deep brown to black with maybe a slight highlight at the edge and a cappuccino head. Aromas of black coffee, chocolate, smoke and a hint of dark fruit (prunes?). Taste is gentle fruit at the front but quickly overwhelmed by a roasted black coffee bitterness and a slightly acrid smoky note, slipping away to some cinnamon and nutmeg spice with cocoa powder and chocolate. Medium to full bodied with a spicy aftertaste. Good.

Dark chocolate colour, almost black. Nice frothy head, a little unusual for the style. Chocolate coffee aroma. Almost an iced coffee texture, not as thick and string as most porters, but nice. Mocca after taste - nice, I like it.

Lovely aromas of chocolate and roasted coffee rise from the swirling glass with a little aniseed to boot. The taste is quite milky with a good deal of chocolate, coffee and aniseed as well as loads of grapefruit. It’s strength is in the smelling and although the taste is more than pleasant, the aftertaste is slightly metallic, quite salty and not all that pleasant. Combined with the slightly thin palate and somewhat short finish, it’s not a great drink.

Quite a hoppy aroma, lactose, dark malt. Large foamy head, dark body. Hoppy than I expected, very smooth though. Quite thin as well. Has a slightly cola taste as noted from someone elses ratings, good description. Very easily drinkable.

From a 33cl bottle, pours a dark brown with a small beige head, that did not stay long only to leave a thin ring around. Aroma of light roasted malts, and coffee. Flavors of light roasted malts, coffee, sugar and cola. Light sweetness, light mouth feel, with a cola taste finish. Overall very light dimension brew and sweet. Not my cup of coffee.
