Kooinda Boutique Brewery currently produces 400 litre batches of Hand Crafted Pale Ale using only the freshest available Hops, Barley & Yeast. The Ale is brewed in accordance with the German Purity Law of 1516, which states that only malt, water, yeast and hops can be used in brewing. Our beer is non-filtered and contains no artificial preservatives. Kooinda Pale Ale 4.7%, is a full bodied brew with a copper hue and hints of citrus in its aroma. The ale combines 3 specialty malts and finishes with a touch of bitterness on the palate. Kooinda hope to produce a Porter and Fruit beer in the near future.

Bottle from Mane Liquor, Perth. Hazy copper with a slight, off-white head. Sweet, biscuity malts, a touch f citrus hops and a slightly jarring trace of earthy cocoa. Ok.

330ml bottle. Pours a hazy medium chestnut, with a smallish off-white head, which lasts fairly well but does not leave much lacing. The main notes in the aroma are biscuit and charry malt, with some mild resin hops. Fruity and resin hops introduce it, with some lime playing around the edges. Biscuit and burnt caramel malt in the mid-palate, with a touch of resin in the finish. This is a fairly simple pale ale, nice enough, but nothing too exciting.

Good solid APA. Nice aroma and lovely hop flavours, abates quickly and has a dry bitter finish. Not world beating but really enjoyable.

HopRedHead (339) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - APR 18, 2013
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours a cloudy copper with tan head. Big malty nose: sticky caramel and toast. American hops present a short resin hop aroma with a slight grapefruit back. Flavour is pretty big for a pale ale, malt really present on the tongue and hops take a backseat until the lingering bitterness. Quite well bodied for a standard pale ale, interesting take on an APA.

Now known as the Kooinda American Pale ale. Bottle at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Pours a clear medium copper colour with a frothy white head. The aroma is malty with a little hoppiness in the background. The flavour is medium to strong bitter, a little malty and with lots of bitterness on the palate and in the aftertaste. A nice beer which is a little sadly all about the bitterness and not much else. We need more flavour.

Quite a sweet aroma. A little citrus and honey. Flavour follows through. An oily palette and a bittetness that starts light but builds in the aftertaste. Not bad.

Aroma is fruity from hops, appearance an opaque red-gold with good head. Taste is hoppy, balanced with malts, touch fruity and piney and a bit of citrus. Palate is mild, pleasant bitterness.

Pours a coppery colour with wispy disappearing head. The aroma is citrus hop resin and caramel. The flavour is a wonderful balance of hop bitterness and wort sweetness.

UPDATED: JUL 20, 2012 On tap at Archive Beer Boutique, Brisbane. A translucent honey gold colour with a thin white head that faded quickly. Laced quite well. Moderate carbonation. Aroma of moderate intensity of malts and yeast. Taste initially of hops bitterness. Medium body. Long slightly bitter finish. Quite nice. From bottle there are some differences - colour is same but poured with a two finger off-white foamy and frothy head that lasted and laced well. If sediment in bottle is poured then the beer turns an opague cloudy honey gold colour. Carbonation was high with a fast and steady stream of bubble trails. Taste, palate and finish similar.
