Pours dark copper with a large fading head. Nose shows cloves, cinnamon and cardamon. Also sweet caramel and some raisins. More spices and herbal notes as flavours, with accompanying cinnamon and nutmeg astringency. Some sweet malt too. A little sultana-like christmas cake notes too. Carbonation is too high, body too watery.

Bottle from Dan Murphy’s. Murky/muddy brown (like dam water!), minimal head, cinnamon, nutmeg, spice, raisins, caramel malt, mixed peel, medium body, creamy texture, moderate bitter finish. Nothing special.

Bottle. Murky brown with an off white head that lasts OK. Aroma of nutmeg (like you’re grating it), cinnamon, toffee, raisins. Spices are slightly more restrained in the taste, but malty sweetness and candied oranges are still pushed into the background.
