brown to dark with a beige head. dark malts, hint of (bread) yeast. taste is malt, bit of moccha. finish is dry, bitter, pretty straight forward through the corridor. Is this a 10% beer? where have they hidden the alcohol ? It is ok, but heavy to drink, and it is limited in complexity and dito flavors.

Bottle @benzai. Almost the same as the previous one. A quadrupel marketed as a stout. Itís not even black. Ití dark copper maybe. You can taste the alcohol, itís very sweet, not roasty. Not my beer.

Bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus. Clear deep dark red color, average sized off-white head. Smell and taste malts, sweetness, caramel, liquorice, alcohol. Medium to full body, medium carbonation. Tastes like an Abt/Quadrupel to me...

22/VII/13 - 75cl bottle from coal mines (Beringen, Belgium) @ Jorge and Katrienís summer flat - BB: n/a, bottled: 21/V/13 (2013-658) Thanks to Bouvier for the bottle!

anekdote: my friend walks into the souvenir shop and buys the bottle of beer. He knows a lot of beer things through me. The cashier tells him: "itís a good beer, but you should know, it is not brewed here in Limburg". To which my friend answered: "Let me guess: Lochristi?". Cashier (very surprised): "How do you know???" :-)

Clear cola coloured beer, big aery light beige head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots of caramel, dried fruits, some chocolate, sweet, brown sugar, more chocolate. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: caramel, lots of dark chocolate, bit of mocha, bitter hops. Aftertaste: dried fruits, hoppy touch, some citrus, lots of chocolate, bit of mocha, not too sweet, little spicy, cloves.

Lovely stout, I totally dig how it tries to capture the spirit of coal miners.
