Nose is mostly chocolate with some diacetyl, some nutty qualities and dusty notes. Messy, mediocre, but not bad. Somewhat mildish as well, minimal roastiness.
Looks clear and dark, head is pretty large and has nice retention.
Taste is chocolate with little roast, pretty clean, lagery profile with some stout mild-like qualities. Too sweet though, although bitterness is ok.
It’s slightly above average if we’re talking about lagers. I don’t know why the hell won’t they brew it as a proper stout though.

Musta, niukka vaahto, hieman hapokas. Maltainen rukiinen tuoksu, maku kupliva, leipäinen, makea, raikas. Mukiinmenevä jälkimaku. Ihan jeppiskamaa jälleen.

Bottle. Pours dark mahogany, lovely frothy head. Aroma: butterscotch, dark fruits, caramel, malt. Taste: roasted malts, caramel, hint of fruits, hint of coffee. Decent beer though not sure what makes it Irish.

Quite intensive chocolate aroma with some hints of roasted malts. Medium, almost completely disappearing head. Dark brown body. Intensive caramel sweetness in taste with almost nothing to contrast it. I’ve never seen such beer in Ireland, but what do I know, I’m not from there.

It’s difficult to rate this beer. On one hand it’s called Irish Beer, so I was hoping for some stout-like taste. It has a hint of chicory coffee in the aroma and the taste, but it’s a little too sweet for me. If I had to compare it to some UK styles, I think oatmeal stout would be close, but stouts have more bitterness to them. This one leaves some stickyness in your mouth and actually makes you more thirsty. But as far as lagers go, it’s not half bad. For quite a low price I think it’s worth checking out.

Bottle. Dark brown body, medium beige head. Sweet roasty aroma with some molasses and milk chocolate. Sweet roasty taste with minimal smokiness. Not bad: make it less sweet and it would even be great. If they intended this to be a stout then the taste should be a lot drier, right now it’s too sweet. I don’t know whether this is a top or bottom fermented beer but flavour-wise it feels closer to stouts than German or Czech style dark lagers.

500ml bottle. Brown color. Small size head, stays. Dusty, husky, roast, coffee, earthy, cake, chocolate in aroma. Chocolate, cake, cocoa, muffins in taste. Mellow roast in aftertaste. Could be less sweet.

500ml bottle (Drink Shop, Tallinn)
Dust, roasty grainy, husky. Taste has pentane-2-dione or diacetyl flaws. Sweetish palate, almost slick. Nice roast, a little bit of treacle. But way too sugary. Alcohol hidden behind the sugars, but the sugars are too much.
