Bottle, shared with Palme. Near-black body, medium creamy caramel-colored retention. Aroma is coffee, dark malts, chocolate and hints of licorice. Taste is leather, licorice, roasty sweet malts and hints of smoke. Warming alcohol, full body and decent carbonation levels make for a smooth drinking experience. A nice, tasty Baltic porter.

0.5l bottle shared with ClubGonzo. This porter pours a deep deep brown - near black body with a tanned fingersize head leaving big lacings. Aroma is malty with thin chocolate and some strange eggshell-notes. Quite full-bodied and medium carbonated. Nice roasted flavors and quite sweet with a light milky feeling and a really longlasting chocolate finish. You can sense the warming alcohol in the aftertaste. A good baltic one this.

Schroppfy (2360) - Łódż, Warsaw, Poland; Michigan, Ohio, USA - OCT 14, 2010
When cold, there is no way this tastes or feels like 9%. The cold aroma has a real roasty quality to it, along with a raisiny sweetness. The taste is plum, raisin, dark bready malt (wheat, pumpernickel, rye). Very low bitterness, but a certain acidity. Lovely ruby tinged color. Palate is veritably spritzy, but not over the top. The sweetness is not (so far) getting out of hand. Could this be a good one...?
