Bottle. Thick black with a beige, small but frothy head. Coffee-ish aroma: roasted malts, brown sugar, raisins, a hint of licorice. Flavor is sweet and bitter, lots of licoricy notes, herbal hops, dark fruits. Long lingering finish. Medium to full body. Well made, warming.

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted dark malty and breadish. Thick malty, roasted breadish and dark malty. Thick breadish and almost chocolate note. Bitter and thick dark roasted malty.

Bottle at Papsoe. Pours pitch black with a creamy beige head. The aroma is chocolate, roasted malt, light coffee and some dusty hops. Some dark fruity notes. The flavour is quite sweet with notes of tobacco, chocolate and some hard roasted malt. To the sweet side but quite nice.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a huge dark brown head. The aroma has notes of malt, roasted malt, and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, roasted malt, chocolate, and wood, leading to a dry and roastede finish.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of Ninkasi. Pours an opaque black with an inch thick light brown head leaving some lacework. Sweet roasty nose with lots of dark dried fruit. Solid body, heavy roast, manure, licorice and dark fruits. Has a slight tartness to it. Serious stuff. 200312

Bottle from EdDesmadre, thanks! Almost black. Roast, coffee and salt in the aroma. Licorice. Seems full bodied at first, but is somewhat thinner and alcoholic. Nice velvety mouthfeel. Raisin, coffee, ash, caramel. Delicious and not without complexity.

bottle from Jola/Wine of Dreams Warszawa. Deep black colour, large and creamy brown head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate and raisins. Full-bodied, smooth, lots of espresso, dark chocolate. Not too sweet, not too dry, perfectly balanced. A delight.
