Bottle. Nice label. Dark brown body, medium tall beige head. Aroma has burnt caramel, molasses and burnt coffee, later something vinous. A bit thin mouthfeel for the high ABV. Taste has sweet coffee flavoured caramel candies with vinous fillings. Goes a bit over the top in the burnt sugar department. As a result of that the drinkability is quite low for me. Sweet burnt finish. Finishing the bottle is a chore.

50cl Bottle brought from Poland, thanks Coen! Almost black colour, creamy beige head. Aroma is quite sweet, very malty, pumpernickel, figs, raisins, brown sugar, burnt caramel, tiny hint of coffee. Flavour is sweet, fruity, figs, raisins, caramel, coffee, alcohol, bittersweet finish. Medium-bodied. Great example of a Baltic Porter, albeit rather sweet.

Dobrze uwarzony porter.

Bottle. Light tart aroma dominated by caramel and chocolate, with plums complementing the tartness and additional notes of coffee, pumpernikel bread and roast. Quite roasted flavour for this style, with caramel and chocolate upfront, the tart plummy thing providing the balance, and the roasted, light to medium bitter finish completing the picture. Excellent beer.

AROMA: rich, notes of coffee, chocolate, plums in chocolate, liqueur, roastiness; APPEARANCE: dark brown / black, ruby under light, rich but fast descendent head, quite poor lacing; TASTE: sweet, notes of chocolate, liqueur, plums in chocolate, bitterness insensible; PALATE: rather full, low carbonation, warming in gullet, finish is sweet with a bit of coffee; OVERALL: very good, however sweetness can be tiring.

Kolor prawie czarny z ciemno rubinowymi połyskami, Piana beżowa, drobno pęcherzykowa, ładnie znaczy szkło, ale szybko opada. W aromacie dużo paloności, kawy i karmelu.

Bottle, many thanks to the kindness of the great Eldesmadre. It’s an honour to try this beer, not only because I particularly love Baltic Porters, but also for its name. It’s not always that you can get a traditional beer formally named after a shag. So, this has a nice, dark, coca cola appearance, very dark, with a nice light beige head, rather bubbly to start with. The aromas are a mix of dark chocolate, caramels and plums. Very enticing to the nose. Drinking this beer was nice and warming, with flavours full of dark chocolates, dulce de leche, cherry liquor, plums and all sorts of forest fruits. Talking about all sorts, some interesting liquorice presence too. I can get molasses and plenty of booze. In spite of that noticeable alcohol, it is easy and terribly pleasant to drink. There’s a mild bitterness, from a herbal source, perhaps from that boozy, spicy Schnapps-type of flavour. Medium bodied, with less carbonation than initially suggested by the appearance. Delightful stuff.

Almost as fantastic as Lodzki Porter. As well rich aroma and taste - caramel, chocolate, coffee, toffi.

Chyba najlepszy polski porter bałtycki. Solidna piana. Genialny kawowo-czekoladowy smak

Pours clear, black, with nice brown head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, bit of dark fruits and roasted malts. Alcohol well hidden, full body, medium carbonation. Great, long coffee taste with nice roasty bitterness. Wonderful porter, one of the best
