Very dark brown color & clear with small, beige head (which is only flaw about this beer when it comes to its appearance) and poor lacing. Very rich and complex aroma. There are chocolate, malts, loads of dried plums & raisins, some woody and smoked notes and a pleasant hint of alcohol. Taste has mostly the same notes also itís very well balanced. Carbonation is just perfect. Mouthfeel is really velvety. Despite high abv and complex aroma and taste itís quite drinkable. Great baltic porter.

W zapachu dominuje kawa. Piana ładna, kremowa, oblepia szklankę do końca.

Bottle 0,5l Expire date: 03.05.2014 Dark brown, dark ruby color. Huge creamy, pale brown foam. Aroma: roasted malts, raisins, dried fruits (plums), caramel, cherry liqueur, some porto wine. Love this smell. Taste: balance between sweet and bitter. Roasted malts, cherry, dark chocolate, raisins, dried fruits, coffee and chocolate liqueur. Long warming finish. Full body with a thick texture. For me one of the greatest Polish Baltic Porter.

Bottle, many thanks to the kindness of the great Eldesmadre. Itís an honour to try this beer, not only because I particularly love Baltic Porters, but also for its name. Itís not always that you can get a traditional beer formally named after a shag. So, this has a nice, dark, coca cola appearance, very dark, with a nice light beige head, rather bubbly to start with. The aromas are a mix of dark chocolate, caramels and plums. Very enticing to the nose. Drinking this beer was nice and warming, with flavours full of dark chocolates, dulce de leche, cherry liquor, plums and all sorts of forest fruits. Talking about all sorts, some interesting liquorice presence too. I can get molasses and plenty of booze. In spite of that noticeable alcohol, it is easy and terribly pleasant to drink. Thereís a mild bitterness, from a herbal source, perhaps from that boozy, spicy Schnapps-type of flavour. Medium bodied, with less carbonation than initially suggested by the appearance. Delightful stuff.

Toffee caramel, chocolate. Thick body. Rich hop aroma with sweet sharp malts. Smooth body body, very nice. Much better than expected. Can stand up against the American giants! (ZeeBra)

Zeebra Extreme Beer Festival - Jet black, no head. Aroma of sweet, roasted malts and alcohol together with dried fruits. Has some red wine like characteristics. Flavour has creamy, bittersweet roasted malts. Tastes like a coffee-chocolate bonbon. A bit on the boozy side but rich and warming.

Pours nicely, forms pretty good, light-brownish head. Aroma feels coffee-like, sweetened with caramel and then summed up to feel like a bar of dark, bitter chocolate. Itís just so great. Some liquorish hints can be distinguished as the beer warms up. Head reduces to small pillow of dense foam, which stays there almost untill the end of consumption. Purely black with reddish hints on the sides. Complex taste, first sip feels like sweet coffee, then it becomes more bitter to feel like roasted espresso until it reaches lightly sour finish. Medium-full body, doesnít feel too sticky in mouth, but you can tell itís dense. Lightly carbonated. Enjoyed in House of Beer, Cracow.
