3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours gold into a tulip. Bright white head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. White grape and grain aromas. Sour dry grape and hot yeast. Like cheap wine.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Head is initially average sized, fizzy/frothy, white, fully diminishing.
Body is medium yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), with notes of mold, vinegar, lemon zest, apple skin, alcohol, light note of ammonia.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery/fluffy texture, lively/fizzy carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic.
Quite disappointing based on the high price. Very moldy and vinegar-like (even a little ammonia, although Iím super-sensitive to that) with not much to allure. Very little going in the mouth either. A very expensive drain pour.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A hazed golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light plums, curacao, coriander, not bad. In mouth, a sweet silky malt with light lemon candy meringue, smooth and quaffable. Sampler at Battle of the Belgians at Jimmys 43.

From a 75 cl bottle shared at home. Pours a hazy gold with a champaign-like head. Nose of peach and bread yeast. Flavors of peach, almond, and a hint of citrus. Effervescent mouthfeel with a mild, smooth light bubble finish. Delicate and nice.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rather enthousiastic beer. The bottle has leaked 1/3 of itís content from under the closed cap in the back of the car on the way home (yuk, what a mess), and still it is quite overcarbonated when I open the chilled bottle.
Quite hazy golden colour, white head. Fruity aroma, pear, pineapple, peach, citrus, white wine, bread, yeast, some phenolic notes. Slight sour, slight sweet flavour, malty, quite some citrus peel. Lots of carbo. Finish orange peel, champagne wine, bread and lingering fruitiness.
Interesting beer. Shame it decided to leak in the car.
(From 75cL bottle @ home. 8.5% ABV. Bought at the Colruyt supermarket in Haacht. Best before: Jan 2015)

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle, shared with my wife, Parksy, and Sammy at Publican in Chicago. My label says 8.9%. Hazy lemony yellow body with finely bubbled carbonation generation a huge bubbly effervescent white head. Aroma is yeasty and bready with pineapple and pear. Light and lively mouthfeel with lots of doughy yeast and light pineapple and just a little funk and spice. Finish is very dry. The yeast is really the star here. Overall the character and mouthfeel of this interesting brew were closer to a Normandy cider than anything else. Extremely enjoyable and worthy of my 5100th rating.
