on tap at la guardia airport, beautiful dark brown/red color, aroma was very faint, taste has a mild bitterness, with notes of sweet cream, coffee, and licorice. palate was a little too thin and watery for me.

16oz can into a pint glass. Pours an inky black with a medium tan rocky head which slowly dissipates, leaving fair lacing. Not much nose, just a slight malt smell. Taste follows the nose-watery malt without any detectable hop finish. Overall, just fair, nothing special.

Keg @ The Fox, Willian. Practically black with a frothy head and a small roasted aroma. It’s quite soapy in its texture and taste but more than drinkable and quite light in the palate.

Brown black beer with medium carbonation and low head retention. Subtle chocolate and roasted aroma, chocolate, caramel and low bitterness well balanced, dry and toasted aftertaste. This is a great session beer, very drinkable with its medium low body. Loved this schwarzbier.

500ml Bottle from the LCBO. Pours a very dark brown with a generous tan head. Nose is nuts and coffee and dark chocolate. Dark chocolate and toffee with a quite bitter after taste. I was expecting much more body but it is relatively thin and watery with a metallic ending.

Bottle from the Dram Shop, Sheffield. Pours black with a fading tan head. Some good roasted malt flavours. There’s coffee notes and a little liquorish too over a bit of a wheat taste. Decent.
