4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured into a pint glass. Dark brown with amber hues and an inch of grey/tannish head.
Very aromatic; strong burnt and roasted malt, like a cup of Black Patent Malt with a little honey.
An initial light flavor: mildly malty, leading to a dominating burnt malt taste and a nibble of hops.
Light lager body with moderate carbonation. Smooth and easy to drink.
Excellent schwarzbier. It has a great balance of maltiness and light body with a solid flavor profile.

Café! Delícia, bem balanceada, cremosa, malte tostado evidente, mas sem amargar nem ser doce. Muito bom! Só o aroma é fraco. Também năo deu espuma, mas o copo năo era adequado.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Meget mørk rødbrun med stabilt lysebrunt skum. Duften er svag men præget af mørk malt. Smagen er maltdomineret med bitterhed fra både mørk malt og humle. Forholdsvis kort mild bitterhed i eftersmagen. Meget velbalanceret schwarzbier.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Archetypical German Schwarzbier with DDR origins, blackish in colour with a beige head, caramelly aroma with roasted malts, smooth mouthfeel with deep caramel malts as well as oasted bitterness and a pungent but brief bitterhops ’sting’ in the finish. Still a very good example of its style.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
50cl bottle bb172015, local. Deep mahogani brown-near black pour with generous, stable beige head. Aroma is less inviting, revealing its basic black lager character here: subdued dark malts and strange meaty metallics, which reappear in the taste as a mineral green vegetable (spinache, leek) note. Main body is composed of democratically roasted malts, very light ash, and generous diluted caramel. Semi-dry palate. I do not mind having this benchmark and near-only consolidated Schwarz once in a while, but would prefer to sample more smaller batch, unpasteurised Schwazrbier specimens, a dying style even in the (former) East now it seems.
