Draught, sampled whilst enjoying a fine meal at The Kaiserhof in Bradford, Il. Deep brown, with a finely laced head. Lightly hopped in nose, with a palate rich with roasted malt and dried fruit. Finishes dry with hints of chocolate.

Roasted malt, dark malt, no charcoal flavor but there is a light smoke finish. Pours cola colored and had a thinner mouth feel. Head was thick and creamy and lumpy. A bit of raisin and nuttiness.

Roasted malts, some smoked aspect, light caramel, some dried fruits. Moderate to light sweetness, light bitterness. Decent, but boring

Spore wysycenie. Przyzwoity przedstawiciel stylu.

My favorite black beer so far. I hope to homebrew something close one day. I do not detect much roast/fruit/other smells or flavors. It is just smooth smooth drinkable. Disappears from the glass too fast. I’m very curious what malt blend they use to get the color without any harsh roast flavors. Seek this out.

Night_Cap (116) - Southern Highlands, AUSTRALIA - AUG 14, 2016
UPDATED: AUG 20, 2016 Bottle 330ml. Served at room temperature. Pours dark brown (almost black) with a ruby tint. Head is very lightly tanned, large, foamy and mostly lasting. Aroma is of lightly toasted brown bread, brown sugar, caramel, coco, raisins and sultana’s. Flavour is smooth with a light bitterness, lightly toasted malts, brown bread, cooked brown sugar, dried currants, milk chocolate and light toasty/nut notes in the finish. Light bodied with medium carbonation and a short, clean finish. Quite thin, but easy drinking.
