A slightly cloudy, copperbrown beer with a medium and blond head. Aroma is toffeeish, slightly aromatic, wooden hoppyness. Taste is biscuity, nice bitterness, hint of vegetables, overally quite dry. Quite balanced, biscuity beer with wooden hoppyness.

Tap @ Oluttupa Viisi Penniä. Pours a slightly hazy amber. Aroma is grapefruity, citrusy with a slight whiff of rotten egg or vegetable. Taste is grapefruity, rather mild, some citrus, that rotten something there on the outskirts as well. Palate is alright. Definitely not a vienna though. Probably another one in need of a re-rate. Probably not in proper condition.

UPDATED: JUL 25, 2012 Amber colour, beige head. Rubbery aroma, also some spices. Rather stinging, tries to be herby but doesn’t succeed so well.

Draught @ brewpub. Clear copper w/ quite thick pale head. Mildly malty and syrupy nose. Some banana spiciness. Toasty maltiness, little spices and hops in the flavor. Clean and simple, like all Koulu brews I’ve had.

Tap at Koulu. Copper with thick off white / even beigish lacing head. Nose is syrupy, buttery, malty, full and sweet. Flavor is sweetish, malty, syrupy, a bit toasted bread, even hoppiness and some butterness to round it up. I was told it’s a bitter, but could be vienna too. Nothing summerlike in this, but fairly musty, non-refreshing, full wintery beer to me. Good and tasty.

Draught@Koulu. Dark golden in colour. Minor white head. It has a malty and hoppy aroma with a sweetness to it. It has a dry and malty taste, kinda sparkling but not all that special. I must agree with omhper when he states that it’s : "A dull beer served in a lovely environment.".

(Draught@Black Door, Helsinki) Malty and slightly hoppy aroma. Amber colour, clear and average size, white head with fair lacing. Malty, slightly toffee and slightly acidic flavour. Light to medium-bodied, softly carbonated and slightly metallic palate. Nothing special! 12/06/07

Amber. Sweet and malty aroma turns into quite bitter hoppiness in the flavor. Not especially summery.
