2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 FatPhil (7597) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAY 5, 2008
UPDATED: JUN 18, 2010 Keg (Koulu, Turku)
Rich straw colour, tiny tight head. Served cold, very little aroma.
Fizzy in the mouth, a bit harsh. Simple bready malts, some gingery
hops, but has been emasculated by filtering. Would benefit from a
thicker body. Quite like Plevna Tahti III. 4:2:5:2:9=2.2
Rerate: Summer 2010, where Koulu’s cellar is at a warmer
temperature - 6:3:6:3:12=3.2
A touch of sourness on the nose, but the palate is full. Really
benefits from the increased temperature, there’s a lot more going on
here than when cold. A real fresh lager, lovely.

(Draught@Koulu, Turku) Golden color with a smallish head. Quite fruity and earthy aroma with grassy hops and hints of honey. Decenty malty and pleasantly well-hopped flavor with honeyish hints. Light to medium-bodied, medium-carbonated palate. A pleasant, refreshing, well-balanced and decently hoppy lager.
