Jun 10, 2007 on tap at Koutská pivnice in Domazlice. Nose: roasted malts, coffee and hops. Malty start, hoppy and coffee-like middle and stout-like finish with aromas of coffee, caramel and bitter chocolate.

Head is mostly lasting.
Body is medium brown.
Aroma is moderately malty (toasted bread, cookie, caramel, roasted nuts), moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs), lightly yeasty (horseblanket), with notes of plum and honey.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately bitter.
Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation.
Surprisingly my pick of the Kout line, although I only had 500mL of each beer a single time each, so maybe this just happened to be a lucky batch. Delicious nose with even a perplexing but repeatably identifiable waft of horsey wild yeast in there...not much, but just enough to keep my nose affixed to the mug. Great balance too. What a great brewery!
acrdz (4302), Boulder, Colorado, USA
Jun 5, 2008 Dark brown colored body with a dark tan head. Nose of sweet dates and raisins and dark fruit, along with some light wood at times. Tastes is moderately sweet, building some bubbly but full body over the middle. Fresh toffee and chocolate and bread at times, some light roast even. Very refreshing and flavorful, finishing with some toasted bread and chocolate lingering notes.

May 15, 2007 Draught@Koutland, Plzen. Sweetish to start, lightly buttery/caramelly. Nice notes of chocolate, roasted malt, and id go with raisins aswell. Finish shows some dry grassy hop notes. This, again, was very tasty. Theres no doubt that the 18°, is far superior, this is still fantastic though.

Apr 4, 2008 En fűt. Pinte dégustée chez Koutland (Plzen, Rép. Tchčque). Arôme: Odeur de raisin, de chocolat et de mélasse. Apparence: La couleur est noire. Présence dun large col beige mousseux et dune fine dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Goűt de caramel fruité avec une pointe chocolatée. Durée moyenne de larričre goűt. Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture légčrement minérale. Moyenne effervescence en bouche. Légčre présence de tabac en arričre goűt. (Rating #1551)
