Dark reddish brown coloured beer with a medium disappearing head. Light toffee aroma. The taste is sweet with a rather creamy palate. Very short neutral finish.

Oct 4, 2008 500ml on tap in a bar in Prague. Near black in colour with reddish tones and a foamy tan head. Caramel and toffee aroma. Flavour was very sweet, with a touch of fruit and milk chocolate and demerara sugar in the finish. Ok.

Oct 4, 2008 On draught. An almost black colored beer, with a beige head. The aroma of caramel sweet, malty and a little hop. The taste of caramel sweet, a little chocolate but watery. As aftertaste the caramel sweetness stays for a while.

Oct 2, 2008 Can. Reddish brown colour with a tan head. Sweet malty aroma. The flavour is sweet, roasted malt. Slightly bitter finish. Light to medium-bodied and easy to drink.

Oct 2, 2008 500ml bottle. Muted nose packed with malt; particular roasted nuttiness about it, some caramel sweetness, dark chocolate and a subtle woody vinous fruitiness lingering in the background.
Pours a nice deep bronze body highlighted with red. Offwhite medium head leaves solid lace.
Moderate carbonation, the palate isn’t too lengthy but it has a good malt stickiness that lends the body a bit of extra fullness than you’d expect from the abv.
Plenty of malt on the body, quite sweet overall; chocolate, cereal, caramel, brown sugar, cola, some dried fruit and woodiness. Finish is drying with a slight gritty bitterness.
Nice, simple, easy, flavoursome dark lager, bit on the sweet side.
