Produced from special dark malts, which is why even its foam is dark.

On tap at Mosquto pub, Split. It poured dark red to brown body with small brown head. Fine coffee aroma, along with sweet caramel and burnt sugar. Slightly sour flavor, mostly consisting of coffee, but very watery. Some sweetish burnt sugar present. to balance it a little bit. As of such thin body I couldn’t expect nice long finish such as this beer has. Ends sweetly with caramel and even some fruitiness. I know it’s only 3,8% ABV but it lacks so much body to be more interesting!

Bevuta in bottiglia da 0,50 a Plzen, č una birra abbastanza comune in Cechia. Di aspetto molto bello, il gusto tradisce un pň le aspettative.

Bottle from "KülönlegesSörökBoltja", Bp. Dark brown coloured czeh dunkel withh a touch of ruby within. Its beige head is medium and collapses quickly. Smell of caramell, molasses and yeast. The taste begins with a mild mouthfeel, flavour’s of toffee combined with light notes of coffee, texture is medium to thin. The aroma brings roasty, caramell, grassy and pleasant yeasty impressions along, the end is toasty/coffee-bitter, light spicy and a bit dry at last. Light bodied and easy drinkable brew, overall a better kinded average one.

The dark malt gives a nice molasses taste to it. Feels stronger than it actually is.

Bottle. Pours a deep mahogany with a good size creamy cream coloured head. Some lacing. Big roasted malty aromas. Relatively clean and straight forward but nice all the same. Flavours are similar to the aroma with lots of malt sweetness and bitterness provided by the roasted malt. Moutfull is a little thin and watery. Pretty good beer all up.

Pours a dark brown body with a foamy tan head. Smell is malt extract and roasted buns. Taste is toast and dark malts with metallic hints mid-palate. Creamy mouthfeel. Hints of coffee in the aftertaste. A bit watery, but not too sweet. Kozel Cerny is a quite decent, albeit slightly boring lightweight dunkel on the dry side of the scale.
