Not bad. Highly drinkable - it goes down very easy. It has a low alcohol content of 3.8%, but doesn’t taste watery like many similar strength brews. Rather, the flavour is allowed to shine without too much alcoholic influence. A little bit sweet, but with a pleasantly dark and malty follow-through. All in all a very good beer.

500ml can
Deep reddy brown, bready head. Smell is a bit metallic. Quite watery palate, but a decent enough burnt maltiness to it. Very restrained hops. A little sweet, but some samples we’ve had have been very sweet - quality control’s not their strong point. Quite drinkable, but not very exciting.

500ml on tap in a bar in Prague. Near black in colour with reddish tones and a foamy tan head. Caramel and toffee aroma. Flavour was very sweet, with a touch of fruit and milk chocolate and demerara sugar in the finish. Ok.

On draught. An almost black colored beer, with a beige head. The aroma of caramel sweet, malty and a little hop. The taste of caramel sweet, a little chocolate but watery. As aftertaste the caramel sweetness stays for a while.

500ml bottle. Muted nose packed with malt; particular roasted nuttiness about it, some caramel sweetness, dark chocolate and a subtle woody vinous fruitiness lingering in the background. Pours a nice deep bronze body highlighted with red. Offwhite medium head leaves solid lace. Moderate carbonation, the palate isn’t too lengthy but it has a good malt stickiness that lends the body a bit of extra fullness than you’d expect from the abv. Plenty of malt on the body, quite sweet overall; chocolate, cereal, caramel, brown sugar, cola, some dried fruit and woodiness. Finish is drying with a slight gritty bitterness. Nice, simple, easy, flavoursome dark lager, bit on the sweet side.
