Produced from special dark malts, which is why even its foam is dark.

Brown with a fine grey head. The aroma is malt dominated with notes of roasted malts and caffe latte. The flavour is both refreshing and complex at the same time: cold caffe latte notes dominate. Excellent.

Bottle 500ml. Thin body, but enjoyable nonetheless. Aromas of burnt malt, caramel, and cola. Sweet taste, with light bitterness, and average duration. Palate is carbonated, thin and watery. Brown, with a thin frothy head.

500 ml can. Finland.
Dark reddish brown colour with average quickly disappearing tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, dry hoppiness and notes of nuts, chocolate and coffee. Roasted malt, hoppy dryness and chocolate sweetness and nuts in flavour. Quite fizzy. Good Czech Dunkel.

This beer looks great - it has nice deep dark brown color with beige head. That’s exactly how good dark beer should look like. But taste of the beer definitely fails to satisfy the promise made by the appearace. It’s flat and reveals total lack of any vision of the autors. If not vision, it would be good to have at least some idea in which direction to go. In my opinion, the beer lacks even that...

UPDATED: APR 2, 2011 Pours brown with a fair beige head. Smells of chocolate, some roasted malt and a little grass. The taste is just a little sweet and there’s an emptiness in the middle palate. Rather like weak black iced coffee. Dull. [2.4]

Liked it a bit more this time - the chocolatey dark malt is nice and the fairly dry finish makes it very drinkable and just tasty enough but that empty middle is still a letdown.

UPDATED: JAN 17, 2010 Very dark brown color, beige head; aroma of sweet caramel; mouthfeel is on the thin side with some carbonation desperately trying to hold it up; very sweet flavor of syrupy caramel with hints of maltiness, but apparently the sweetness is coming from somewhere else. Use of sweetener in a beer may sound scary, but if you´re in for the bottled candy you could choose a lot worse.

Great beer. Poured a dark tan with notes of choclate and fruit in the nose. In the mouth it is smooth and refreshing and has quite a bit going on for a sub 4% beer. A little chocolate, fruit and slightly earthy flavour.
