3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap. Quite interesting, best Czech dunkel I’ve tried perhaps. Sarsparilla with a weird caramel aftertaste. Have since tried it bottled a few times, where the nice balance of the sweet flavours seems to go out of whack and turn into a sickly mess that’s sometimes hard to finish.

Bottle 0,5l. Dark brown. A large light brown creamy head. Lasring for a while. Sweet aroma of malt and caramel. Caramel dominating the flavour. Some sweet bitterness in the finish. A good beer, but a bit unvaried.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Great looking beer, copper with a creamy rocky brown head. OK lacing and retention. Lots of caramel in the aroma, with a tiny bit of yeast. The body is a little thin as expected, but shows some reasonable balance and the caramel flavours are very complex. These flavours continue in the finish, rounding off a good beer, perhaps it could be a little more bitter.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
The first of september, the dark season starts. I pick a Kozel Cerny what I bought on my vacation in the Czech Republic. This beer is dark and good, could be a bit more bitter. But I like this kind of beer.

Draught. Clean caramelly flavours. Fairly sweetish. Boring and a poor beer overall.

500ml can bought at small convenience store in Helsinki, Finland. Murky brown in colour, large tan coloured head, good retention, some lacing. The aroma is slightly metallic, some dark malts, cookies and bread. The flavour has a mild roastiness, some light burnt malts, toasty, mild dark chocolate, nutty. Mild bitter mouthfeel, medium/light body, medium carbonation. Finishes clean, malty and short. Not to bad at all, to bad this isn’t available where I live because I’d have this again.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Nice looking 500ml bottle and label. Creamy, beige head over an appealing deep mahogany and scarlet gown. Dark malty aroma. Watery. Medium bodied. Brittle caramel flavour with grainy notes. More sweetness and some yeastiness in the finish. Becomes far too sweet half way through the glass.

500ml bottle. Large initial head, dark brown appearance. Toasty malt aroma. Smooth, nutty, chocolate tastes. Very sweet, also too much so. Slightly unpleasant after taste.
