3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark mahogany from the tap, nice read hue to it, with a smooth off-white head. Didn’t have the roastiness that many other dunkels i’ve had in Prague showed. Malts show more of a caramel and molasses note. Very smooth on the palate and nice balance.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nice dark beer. Sweet flavour coming from the beer rather than from the alcohol. Really creamy and all, but seriously lacking any semblence of alcohol. For some reason, beers with not enough alcohol annoy me a little, I think I kind of like the taste. Tastes really good when made a black and tan with Pilsner Urquell.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
On tap at The Kolkovna, Prague, Pasteurised, 500ml. Dark brown with malty cream head. The ubiquitous Kozel dark can be found at any of the hundreds of Pilsner Urquell bars around Prague, I have to say that Sandra loves this beer, but I find it much too sweet for me, there is licorice in there and a certain fruitiness, but really the sweetness is overwhelming.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear brown with a decent sized beige head that last a little while and then faded away. Syrupy chocolate aroma with a touch of licorice and caramelised nuts. On first taste the caramel comes barrelling in, but because of the low abv it seems to saturate quickly and isn’t as present in subsequent mouthfulls. Light bodied, again because of the abv. Good carbonation peps it up a little while still being very drinkable. Nice, sweet aftertaste that seems to satisfy. However, IMHO, with some more bollocks this could be a very good beer, but as it is it is just good.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
A very unique flavor for this czech beer. A friend recently visited Finland and brought back this little gem. I must say for such a low abv. it had a solid taste. If I had to compare it to a beer in the states I would say its alot like drinking Modelo Negra but with an extreme caramel flavor. Good finish. Very smooth and sweet. If you are ever able to try "Double Goat" beer, I think you should.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: JUN 5, 2007 Amber with an offwhite head. Aroma is malty and slightly floral. Full roast malt flavour with some sweetness, although the taste gets dryer in the roasted.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap. Quite interesting, best Czech dunkel I’ve tried perhaps. Sarsparilla with a weird caramel aftertaste. Have since tried it bottled a few times, where the nice balance of the sweet flavours seems to go out of whack and turn into a sickly mess that’s sometimes hard to finish.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle 0,5l. Dark brown. A large light brown creamy head. Lasring for a while. Sweet aroma of malt and caramel. Caramel dominating the flavour. Some sweet bitterness in the finish. A good beer, but a bit unvaried.
