Clear dark amber/ruby. Light tan head. Roasted malt dominant with crusty brown bread aroma. Easy in the mouth with sweet roated grains & low hop flavour. For a 3.8er it’s very good.

Pours a dark mahogany. Great light-tannish head that holds on for a little bit before leaving the lacing stuck to the side. Very bready looking head on first pour that looked like the krausen on a fermenting beer. Malty and roasty. Very nice aroma from both those attributes. Maltiness up front with a hint of roasted barley. Nice balance of the roasted flavor with the sweetness of the rest of the malts. I detect very little if any hops. But with this much maltiness and roasted flavors I would not expect to notice any hops. Velvety smooth. Silky milkiness that leaves a nice coating on the tongue after swallowing. And just like that it’s gone. But the malt still stays behind. A little residuals stay behind leaving a slight stickiness on the corners of the mouth. But don’t fault the beer for that.

Very much enjoyed this smooth and easy to drink dark beer. It’s my go-to beer in Prague.

Tasted on different trips to Czech Republic. Pours a dark rubyred to brown peer. Very fine laced beige head. Smells sweet-malty. Full body when drinking, alcoholsweetness with some caramel. Ends in not too subtle roasted malts while the tongue is still tangling with carbon. Only a sweet aftertasts survives. A good basic beer for a night in the pub, although a little too sweet to my taste.

Bottle, Bodeguita del medio, Prague. Dark beer, big head, smooth, fullbodied with only that percebtage of alcohol. Nice, with a nice bitter in the finish.

Found this at U Fleku in Prague. Couldn’t stop drinking the stuff. And, at $1.50 a pint, very cost-effective.

Can. Dark brown with huge brown head. Aroma sweet, rye bread, malt. Nice. Taste roasted malts and rather sweet, again lots of rye bread notes. A nice beer and lot of taste for so little alcoholcontent.

Very dark brown, but not quite black. A tall, creamy white head. Aroma of burnt malt. Slight caramel and coffee. A touch of hops and raisins (apples?). Aroma stronger than usual. Sweetish flavor, lots of caramel, not as much roasted flavor as is in the nose. Slight burnt aftertaste, still sweet, a bit of hop dryness, but not much. Not roasted enough. Not enough hops really. A nice tasting beer, to be sure, but on the sweet end of the style. A little more like a German dunkel than is usual for a Czech dark.
