3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
This is an excellent dunkel and session beer. The beer is dark brown and has a very thick head. Aroma has malt and carmel, as well as fruit. Sweet flavor that includes more malt and carmel. Lightly hopped. Outstanding palate. Smooth and exceptionally easy to drink.

Not so much to say about this fantastic invention - it’s just so wonderful, both in the aspects of taste, flavour and aroma but appearance and palate too. If I had to choose a beer to drink every day, this one would surely be situated in the top 3... fantastically made!

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Light sweetish aroma.
Head with big bubbles, dark brown. Sweetish, not exiting flavor, quite light bodied. Light dry, empthy end.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Dark amber color. Light aroma of malt, caramel, fudge. Weak body, with a sweetish taste, almost just caramel, and not bitter enough.

Bottle. Dark with a fast disappearing head. Light malty, slighty fruity aroma. Short finish. Not much for hops. Refreshing

2.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled. Looks good, this brown beer with a small beige head. Aroma was so much like boiled vegetables that I couldn’t focus on the rest. Flavor is mild, light roasted malt and caramel. Medium mouthfeel and low on bitterness in finish. (051104)

The best dark beer I have ever had. Note that I have only tried the Velkopopovcky Kozel Cerny brewed in the Czech Republic. This is the best dark beer in the world. Not too sweet no bite, just right.
Of course, Velkopopovycky just won the gold medal in Belgium for best beer in all three categories: light, medium and dark. This should come as no surprise to people that actually know beer.
I would also like to point out that in the Czech Republic, where Kozel comes from, 57% of the people prefer Cerny (dark) Kozel to medium, light or premium light. I agree with them. After all, Czechs drink more beer per capita than any other people in the world.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Dark dark brown colour. Aroma from plums and raw sugar. The palate is to thin and watery in my taste. The tast has some mild coffee and burnt malt. I´ve had better Czechs.
