3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Purchased this 500 ml bottle in Praha a couple of months for next to nothing and drank this past weekend in Dublin.
Pour resulted in a nice head that didn’t stay around too long on a brown copper body that looks great.
Very malty and very sweet are the first aromas that hit your nose after the pour. Some nutty flavors come through next.
The malts, nuts, and sweetness all come through on the first sip and there is a bit of coffee to it too. Goes down really smooth-full of flavor yet not too heavy so that is a nice combination. I do agree that the taste doesn’t stick around too long in the mouth and on the tongue, but the mouthfeel is great with a bit of carbonation.
I was impressed by this beer and have not had alot of this style before so I would like to try more now. I would definitely try some if I saw it here in Ireland or if I go back to Praha.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Very dark ruby red with thin off white head. Metallic aroma. Rather smooth texture, fruit, liquorice flavour. Initial quite sweet, brown sugar. Seems to go more thin as you drink it and loses it flavour a little, which is a shame. Overall disappointing by the end, a bit thin gassy.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dunkel style beer, found in a supermarket in Greece. Sweet with dark foam and a bit of smokey taste. Better than other Chech beers

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Not much of a selection on a Czech train ride. Ah well, at least it’s beer. And I’m also really glad its "foam" is dark, too.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
I liked this - it was quite sweet, but not as much so as one may expect. Had a little smokey kind of taste, which made it interesting.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Clear brown/red look with a nice baige dense head. Classic dunkel aroma of fermented fruits, a little bit of toasted bread and sweet malts. Flavor is again mainly sweet and soft, with a bit of roasted bitterness. Palate is smooth and soft, highly drinkable.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Stockholm) Mahogany brown colour with huge, beige head, leaving some lacing. Malty, rather sweet nose with notes of dried fruit, brown sugar, caramel and wort bread. Malty, grainy taste with sweetish notes of brown sugar and dark rye bread. Not very bitter, slightly below medium body, rather sweet. Very tasty considering the low abv. Nice.
