Produced from special dark malts, which is why even its foam is dark.

Nice malty taste with hints of licorice, body is quite thin but it doesn’t matter. Mouthfeel is a bit carbonated and bitter, aftertaste is slightly sour.

Very nice smooth bock-like pivo with nice malty character. This dark beer featured a light hop aroma overtaken by its abundant dark malt flavor.

One of the oddest ratings I scored ever. Had it draught at a party at my university’s student club. They usually serve just Pilsner Urquell draught, but they also had this on yesterday. Poured a nice dark (almost black) red colour, with a thick, creamy medium sized beige head that went away slowly. The aroma was pleasant, a sweetish, malty nose with a few hints of hops. The taste was quite one dimensional, but that one dimension was damn pleasant. A soft, sweet malty taste, caramel, hints of hops (Saaz I reckon). Sweetish aftertaste. A lovely light dunkel.

bottle into long glass (wiezen glass) dark fruit/sweet aroma. dark ruby color. light crystal malt, almost fruity flavour. clean palate, goes down very well. might become overly sweet if drunk to much.

UPDATED: MAY 19, 2009 Re-rate 1/16/08: Bottle. Dark reddish brown with a medium, quickly disappearing, off-white head. Malty aroma with toasted bread and hints of milk chocolate. Sweet toasted malt flavor with caramel, light hoppy bitterness in the finish. A bit watery. OK, but definitely lacks in character and not as good as I remembered it. 6/3/5/2/11=2.7

Bottle. Dark brown with a pretty big beige head. Lightly roasted malt and some caramel in the nose. Flavor is nice sweet malt which finishes with a bit of hop bitterness. A light to medium body. A nice dunkel. 6/4/6/3/13=3.2

Oh goody a bottle with medals on it, wait a minute it hasn’t got one from AIBA, sh*t everyone gets one of them - even Outback Brewery got one for having pretty labels - not a good start. Now on to the beer - pours a neat red-brown w/- a big rocky head. Aroma is dominated by caramel upfront followed by stone fruit (plums) and a touch of cinimmon (sp). Flavour is sparse and sweet mostly caramel maltishness. What is there is quite good but is sooo watered down it loses the plot. More malt & alcohol please! Still as a mid-strenght beer if you’re driving it beats most of the sh*t we brew and drink over here. Cheque please.

red brown beer with a cloudy liquid. medium bitterness. Not my type of beer, to much bitterness. I like more golden beer like spanish and dutch beer.

Bottle. Dark brownish colour with an average bubbly head. Sweet caramel and roasty aroma. Flavour is rather sweet, some roasted maltiness, bit hoppy. Sweet aftertaste.
