Produced from special dark malts, which is why even its foam is dark.

0.5l can. Dark brown color with white/brown head. Aroma is undistinguishable because of overly watery taste. Might be good with 2% more alcohol.

Watery, some maltiness, coffee, hints of bitterness in the finish. One of the worst beers sampled in Prague.

Pours deep dark brown. Aroma is dark malt, texture is very smooth, easy to drink and not with any sharp tastes. Just overall an easily flowing beer, really enjoyed this one more than I figured I would.

Bottle, 500ml. Pours very dark brown, with a medium tall beige head. Aroma is mild, with fruits and dark malt. Mouth feel is medium-thick with strong carbonation, watery texture. Taste is slightly sweet, with no bitterness. Strong dark malt flavor. Flavors of dry fruits and raisins, bready, some roasted notes. Very light hop flavor. Somewhat watery flavor. Too simple and flat flavor profile, but OK overall.

In Prague, there were generally two choices of beer at most eateries: pils or dark. The pils was Urquell. The dark was this. It was good overall. Poured dark brown with foamy, slightly brownish head. Not much aroma. Flavor was malty, but a bit on the weak side. Maybe a bit watery. Abrupt finish.

My favorite dark lager from the Czech Republic, and you can find it in several places.
