COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Produced from special dark malts, which is why even its foam is dark.

Can. Clear dark brown with a large but diminishing tan head. Aroma is bready, toasted malt, caramel. Flavour is lightly malty, some roast malt, but mainly milky chocolate/coffee and caramel. Basically no bitterness which is a bit disconcerting.

On tap. Quite interesting, best Czech dunkel I’ve tried perhaps. Sarsparilla with a weird caramel aftertaste. Have since tried it bottled a few times, where the nice balance of the sweet flavours seems to go out of whack and turn into a sickly mess that’s sometimes hard to finish.

Bottle. An amazing beer for its low ABV. Dark with a dark brown hue with tan head with good retention. Sweet spicy aroma leading to a delicious palate with lots of sweet malt, some chocolate and subdued bitterness. Becomes a little bit cloying as you finish your third pint... but then again I can live with that. Good mouth feel with standard lager carbonation. You should try it on tap, where it *really* excels

I was positively surprised, when I first drank this beer. Some may say it’s for woman - when you sitting in Prague’s "hospoda" (pub) you’ll see women drinking it. Excellent taste - you can find a little caramel aroma there, but not to strong. Good foam, stays long on top. Great colour, dark but not black. One of the best beers I ever drank.

Fairly full-bodied with small hints of roasted malt. A little thin but pretty good.

This is a lovely Munich dunkel with a great sweetish flavor and lingering palate. The flavor is well-balanced. One of my favorites.

UPDATED: JAN 16, 2015 500ml bottle. Very nice beige foam with small bubbling (almost creamy). The colour is dark brown. Body is medium, and taste is roasted coffee with minimal earth (by Saazer hop?) and very sweet malt behinde these. I liked it, my wife very liked.

Pours black with a pillowy tan head. Aroma of toasty grain. Taste is clean and balanced, with a decent amount of both dark malt, clean light malt, and Czech hops.

Draught, Dublin. Pours dark ochre, with beige and compact head, that eventually dissipates to quarter-finger deep. Nutty aroma of sweet malts, and something similar on the palate but with caramel notes. Put me in mind of Smithwicks, the Irish ale.

Nice malty taste with hints of licorice, body is quite thin but it doesn’t matter. Mouthfeel is a bit carbonated and bitter, aftertaste is slightly sour.
